I was coming home from work late one day only to get a surprise call from Mindy. I had been talking to Eddy about the remote gadget I had, and what it did with the camera systems. He thought it was a banging ass idea to make something big of it, and he'd help me out. I was kind of excited to see where it would go. That is, once we got it in the right people's ears.
"Come on, you gotta get home now!" I didn't know what this was all about, but it sounded pretty serious. I pulled into our driveway and got out. Ran up to the door and let myself in.
"What's wrong?" I asked, looking around for Mindy. Mindy came downstairs with the biggest smile on her face. Thank God! There was nothing seriously wrong! or was there?
"What's got you scaring me and making you so happy?" She pulled out the pregnancy test and I went over to look at it.
"No way!" I was going to be a father? We hadn't even got married yet.
"Yup!" she smiled. "Are you happy about it?" Was I happy about it?
"Of course I am, I just wanted to marry you first. Marriage and then comes the baby you know that song." She laughed so hard.
"We can do both!" She recommended. If she wanted to do both, we could do both.
"Sounds like a plan." I picked her up and twirled her around. I suddenly noted that I would have a lot of great news to share with Ann.
At this moment I realized that life couldn't get any better than this. And we lived happily ever after. Just like the fairytale.
