"Bro where the hell were you last night?" Damion asked me over brunch the next day. We decided to meet up at the nearest food place to talk about where we were going to steal our next car.

"What are you talking about?" I answered him, "I was home."

"Dude home with who? Angela called me and was crying her eyes out. What the fuck did you do to her?" and, "She said you were there with your girlfriend? GIRLFREND? I mean really what the fuck did you screw her yet?"

"That's not your business anymore. And yea man, I really like this girl." I sighed and sat back in my seat at the table.

"I see. So I take it this isn't a bet anymore is it?" He asked. "Even though you owe me money because you didn't screw her in the right time frame. The bet was to get her in bed in a week."

"Dude!" I yelled. "She isn't your business anymore just let it go, alright?" I waved my hand at him.

He looked at me. He wasn't giving it up. "A bet is a bet man. You and I know this, now hand it over." He put his hand out.

"Are you fucking serious?" I yelled again. "You're a piece of shit you know that?"

"Not as much as a piece of shit you'll be when she finds out she was a bet."

I slammed my fist on the table so hard our food jumped. "Dude! You wouldn't!" I panicked. "Fine I'll give you your damn money, here," I said as I threw money at him. There's $800 I have to get the rest later. Fucking asshole." And I left.

If he mentioned anything to her about it, I will fucking kill him. Mark my words I WILL FUCKING KILL HIM and bury the body myself.

"Wait!" Alex came running out. "I may have a good car I can steal."

"Good get it and bring it by my place and we'll talk about work." I said over my shoulder. I was too pissed off right now I didn't want to talk to any of them. First Alex ratted me out then Damion was threatening to tell the very person I wake up for each morning that she was a fucking bet. I just wanted to get as far away from them as all as I could. I got on the bus and headed her way.

She was working when I saw her through the glass window. She was smiling and laughing at what someone was saying in the chair getting their haircut. She really was a work of art. The way she worked - Everything flowed about her. And I wanted it all. I was so damn lucky. And I loved her very much.

I didn't want to bother her so I got on the bus and headed home. And when I got home I saw someone I didn't expect to see. "Mike!" I yelled and ran over to him.

"Bro!" He yelled back and gave me a hug and a pat on the back.

"You got out early!" I said. But it was more of a question than anything. I couldn't have him stay here. Not with Mindy staying here nights too.

"I did bro and now I'm ready to knock over some joints with my big brother!" No, I thought, I am going to have to teach you to get a job and be responsible. Ha! I wasn't responsible. But my bills got paid. Mike didn't have any bills. He just blew his money on drugs.

"You got any smack, coke or anything?" He asked.

"Nah bro I quit that shit two weeks ago." It was the truth. I was done with drugs. I didn't want them anymore. I had a new high. And she was working on somebody's haircut right now.

"Whaaaatttt? You quit? No way man that's good!" He pats me on the back.

"Yea man you don't need that shit either." I reminded him. "It's great to have you home again bro. You can stay here for a few nights or so but we got to find you another place." Boy I wish I hadn't given him my address. He was my brother. I had to look after him. No one else was.
