Jane's point Of View

I felt bad for this girl - a feeling I've never felt before. She was taken away so forcefully that she didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to the ones she had to leave behind so when she told me and Demetri that she wanted to try to go to the Cullens and see if they would allow her to stay with them, I said I was going to try to help. "Jane Volturi?! Helping a girl out? I've never seen that before," my brother gasped out mockingly when I asked him to help. "I can help whoever I want. Just don't get used to it," I snapped back. "Are you going to help or not? If master catches us, we can just threaten to leave." "We'll leave the next time they start feeding. It gives us a head start." "What? I can't miss a feeding." Alec growled. So I used my gift on him. "You can enjoy the pain until you agree to come with us," I smiled, giving him a petite wave and skipping to Maggie's room, hearing satisfying screams from my brother. "Er... I'm going to assume that you used your gift one... someone," she guessed. I nodded once, stiffly. She sighed, unhappily. "I'll go see when we're hunting," I stood up and ran out, suddenly Aro barged in. "The Denalis, have created an immortal child," he announced loudly and I gave a huff. "Last time you said that we were proven wrong." His eyes flashed, "We're going. Now." I huffed again as we left the castle.

Tanya's Point Of View

I felt guilty after Maggie had left. She'd clearly come because she missed us, yet we had only told her to go away. I was sitting with Kate, moaning about how much I missed my sister when Alice knocked on the door. Rather, knocked on the door, then kicked it down. "The Volturi are coming. They want to destroy you, to keep Maggie from coming here and escaping," she gasped out. "We'll gather friends... again. It may come to a fight," Edward added, appearing out of nowhere. I sighed but nodded. "Thanks." Over the next few days, we spent all our time doing everything we had for Nessie. "It's time," Kate growled when we saw the Volturi appear, our sister among them, next to Caius in matching dark robes. She looked around, all confused. "They lied to her, told her you created an immortal child for the reason they came here," Edward hissed. So they lied, and now they want to kill us. Awesome. Unlike most of the Volturi, she didn't glare at me but smiled at me timidly before Caius slapped her across the face. Everyone let out low growls of anger at the horrible deed. She blinked once and glared at him, I knew that face well: it meant she was going to mess with his sight, strength, and speed. "Where's the immortal child?" we heard her hiss, "I don't intend on fighting with you if you lied to me and only came to destroy my family," she spat out louder than before. Bingo, I mouthed to her. She jerked away from Caius as if he was a flame of fire or something and looked from me to Kate, then to Alice to Edward. "Come, dear," Athenodora murmured to her, and drew her into the middle of the crowd, shielding her from view. "Where is the immortal child, my dear friends. Don't bother hiding it," Caius asked us as Edward growled, "They have to pretend there's an immortal child for Maggie's sake. It's what they told her." "There isn't an immortal child, Caius," Maggie said roughly while shoving her way back to the front, "You lied."
