Maggie's Point Of View
I shoved my way back into the front, where Caius was. "You lied." I could tell, Tanya mouthed the word bingo when I was talking before. He hadn't thought I made this loop so quickly and fumbled with his next answer, "They are hiding it." I nodded, playing along. "Tanya? Can you show me around your house? We're already in Denali anyway, and I want to see if Caius is lying." Aro slapped me across the face. Of course, it didn't hurt, I mean, I was a vampire. "Well, it seems you haven't learned from your mother's mistake have you, Tanya? Kate?" They flinched, and I didn't blame them. Who'd want to think about their mother, who was murdered by Caius? I scooted away from him. "Well then, Felix?" I turned to face Benjamin and mouthed, surround the Volturi with a ring of fire. He nodded and I turned to Aro, "Is it really valid to kill them? When you have no proof?" I asked, stepping away slightly from the Volturi. They really thought that I would let them kill my sisters. How foolish. Benjamin created a ring of fire around them. "If you attempt to kill anyone here," I told them loudly, "Then you will die. If you come after me again, you will die. I am staying with my sisters." "You are going to leave your mother and father... for people that aren't even your family?" Caius's tone questioned my sanity but I answered, "Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life, that you want in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are." Caius spluttered, Aro stammered, and Marcus just stood there like a freak. Jane grinned at me and I smiled back. "You can't stay with a bunch of fools," Caius protested. "Says who?" "As you fathe-." Tanya cut him off, "As her sister, that has been at her side for centuries, I say she can. If you really cared, you would have gone looking for her long ago. But you didn't." "Now leave," Kate growled. Aro turned around slowly and made a show of leaving with his idiots. I threw myself into my sister's arms. "This is the family I have chosen," I said. "No longer a lost Volturi," Kate added, smiling.
