Sometime in September
It was a special day. Sakusa, Komori, and Izumi all remembered, except for Michiko. She had again been focused on studying for another college entrance exam. Luckily, the exam was in the morning, so Michiko had the rest of the day to herself. That wasn't too bad, she thought as she walked out of the test-taking building. She felt her phone buzz and took it out of her pocket.
Donkey🐴 Hey Michi Michi! I'm going to pick you up. Mori-kun and Sakusa-kun had something to do with the team.
Shrek🧅 Oh, ok! I'm walking out of the building right now. I'll be waiting out front for you.
The small girl turned to her best friend and saw that she was running towards her. Izumi's arms flailed in the air ready to tackle Michiko with a hug. But Michiko sidestepped away, and Izumi landed in the bushes next to her. Izumi sat up with twigs and leaves in her hair looking at her best friend with a pout.
"Michiko," she whined, "I just wanted to hug you."
"You would've knocked me out," the small girl deadpanned.
"Mou... My best friend doesn't love me!" Izumi cried out, dramatically placing an arm on her forehead.
"Izumi, two words," Michiko used her hands to emphasize each word, "Shut. Up."
Izumi laughed at her best friend's reference. They walked to Izumi's car and got into it. As they drove off, Michiko was actually curious as to why Izumi was picking her up. There was always a catch whenever Izumi voluntarily did something, there was always a hidden motive behind it.
"So, why are you actually picking me up?" Michiko asked.
"What do you mean? I already told you, Sakusa wasn't able to get you, so I went in his favor," her best friend countered with a noticeably nervous look.
Michiko turned to look at Izumi with suspicion. Something wasn't right. What is she hiding from me?
"Ok..." she said still not believing her best friend.
Izumi drove them to a little cafe not too far from the Ajinomoto National Training Center. The two girls order iced coffees and sat down at a table.
"So, I see that you and Sakusa are getting serious," Izumi started wiggling her eyebrows.
"Yeah..." Michiko turned her head as a blush formed on her face, "we are."
"Just so you know, Mori-kun and I have been shipping you two since our first year."
