Michiko had been playing video games with Izumi. She felt her phone vibrate and took it out and saw that her dad was calling him. Her eyes furrowed at the contact name; he never calls her.
"Hey Izu, I gotta take this-"
"What the absolute FUCK?! I had him!!" Izumi raged as she got killed by another player.
Michiko shook her head and answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi, my favorite child!"
"I'm your only child," she deadpanned, "Not that I mind, but why are you calling me?"
"I have some news, and I'm not sure if you'll like or hate it..."
"What is it?"
"Well, uh Bernardo Rezende wants you to come to Brazil after you graduate to help their men's national volleyball team."
"Who's that?"
Her father sweatdropped, "He's my cousin and the head coach for Brazil's men's team."
Michiko sometimes forgets that she was of Brazilian descent. Her father's mother was from Brazil and had met her grandfather during a game of beach volleyball. She liked recalling that romantic story of theirs.
"I thought I was on track to help out Team Japan?" She asked in confusion.
"Well, Bernardo made a deal with Fuki that you come to Brazil and help them for the upcoming 2016 Olympics, and that they had a right to call you back due to family ties," he sighed thinking back to the bantering between the two head coaches.
"Hmm... I'll have to think about it. When does he need to know?"
"By late February," her father answered.
"And if I said yes when would I leave?"
"You would leave in late March."
"Ok, I'll get back to you sometime before then."
"Alright, Michi! Don't feel pressured, just do what your heart tells you to do. I love you, my favorite child!"
"Love you too Dad," Michiko chuckled and hung up the phone.
Izumi had stopped playing her game once she heard about the possibility of Michiko leaving again.
"Do you really have to leave again?" Izumi asked.
"It's not official, and I have until February to let them know," Michiko sighed.
"But it's a really great opportunity for you Michi Michi, so I support whatever decision you make," Izumi said with a grin.
Michiko almost teared up. Izu has had so much growth, she's not even dramatically crying.
"Thank you Izu," the small girl smiled back, but she immediately frowned.
