The four teenagers head to an ice cream shop.  Izumi and Komori unconsciously walked ahead as they became enthralled in a conversation about volleyball leaving Michiko and Sakusa behind. The two stray teenagers were five feet apart because Michiko wanted to maintain distance for Sakusa's sake.

"So, Sakusa-san, how have you been?"

"I've been fine," he blandly answers, "Why are you so far away from me?"

"Oh, that? Well, I know you don't like crowds and germs, so I didn't want to push your boundaries if I were to get a little too close to you," she says sheepishly.

"You're only one person so don't worry about being too close to me," Sakusa states, noting Michiko's thoughtfulness, "And you can drop the 'san'. Sakusa is fine."

"Ok," Michiko blushes at his comment.

They arrived at the ice cream shop. It was a little crowded, but too crowded for Sakusa's liking. He started to emanate energy of dread as he felt his nerves shake. Michiko, being the observant person she is, notices Sakusa's body language and how he immediately stopped once he noticed the number of people in the ice cream shop.

"Hey Izumi, I'm going to go to the closest convenience store and get some snacks for our dorm. I'm taking Sakusa with me. Have fun with Mori-kun~"

"Ok, no worries! And stop that Michi Michi," Izumi pouted at Michiko's teasing.

"Let's go Sakusa," Michiko smiled as she started to walk away from the ice cream shop.

He liked the way she said his name. Each syllable rolled perfectly off of her tongue. Of course, he would never admit that. They arrived at a store with a large neon sign above saying, "Modoru Convenient Store". Luckily, the store was quite empty as the two entered. Michiko led Sakusa to the snack aisle. Sakusa held a basket with gloved hands.

"So what's your favorite snack or food to eat?" Michiko asked as she placed various snacks in the basket.

"Umeboshi," he states.

"Oh really? My grandma makes homemade umeboshi, but she makes it a little sweeter than usual. I could ask her to send some if you want?"

"Do you know the recipe?"

"Yes-"

"Then you can make it for me. I don't want your grandma to waste her time on someone she doesn't know."

"But she wouldn't mind. I'll tell her it's for a friend-"

"I want you to make it for me," he deadpanned.

"O-oh, ok," she stutters, surprised by his blunt request, "Well, let's get the ingredients to make it. Could you go find the plums while I get the salt and red shiso leaves?"

Sakusa nodded and went to the produce section. He got two bags of plums and headed back to Michiko.  What he found was amusing: a struggling, little human trying to reach for a bag of red shiso leaves. Sakusa smiled under his mask as the small girl attempts to climb on the shelves.
