Valentine's Day
It was Valentine's Day, the day where people received gifts, chocolates, letters, and love confessions. The one day where people swarmed Sakusa. It was the one day he absolutely dreads because people tend to crowd around him professing their crush or undying love for the tall ace.
However, the curly-headed boy was missing. He was nowhere to be found. The students searched and searched, but couldn't find the tall ace. Michiko was a little worried about his absence. She, Izumi, and Komori were on their way to each lunch at their table.
"Hey, Komori-kun. Where's Kiyoomi?" She asked the libero.
"Oh, he decided to call in 'sick', so he's staying in our dorm for the day" he replied with air quotes.
"Ah, that's right, he hates Valentine's Day," the small girl chuckled, "I'll go make a quick visit."
Michiko left the volleyball couple to themselves as she headed to Sakusa's dorm. She knocked on his door once she arrived. Sakusa sat up from his bed and groaned. There was no way he was going to answer the door to someone with another gift or love confession. He stayed silent pretending he wasn't there in hopes that the person would go away.
"If you're not going to answer, I'm not making anymore Umeboshi for you~," said a teasing voice.
Sakusa instantly stood up and swung the door wide open. He looked down to find his favorite person smiling up at him.
"I heard you were hiding here, so I decided to come see you," the small girl said cheerfully.
"There are too many people that will congregate around me," he cringed at the thought.
"I figured that was the case, but I was worried that Omi Omi was actually 'sick'," she teased.
The tall ace responded with a playful scowl as the two sat down on his bed.
"It's actually funny, everyone's looking for you," she glanced at the curly-headed boy, "don't you want to hear what people feel about you~"
"The only one worth hearing from is you," he deadpanned, "have you not received anything?"
"I received a few boxes of chocolates," she replied and proceeds to roll her eyes, "but you know how it is here. Valentine's Day is where the girl gives the guy the gift and White Day is when the guy gives the girl the gift."
"Shouldn't anyone be allowed to give gifts to whoever they want?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, it's kind of exclusive of certain people if you ask me. Like what if someone, who doesn't identify as a man or woman, wants to give a gift to a guy? This idea of 'girl' and 'guy' giving each other gifts is pushed on us so much," the small girl rambles.
(A/n: no disrespect to Japanese culture on V-day and W-Day, but like you know what I mean? It's 2021 bbs and we don't tolerate hatred, oppression, or discrimination of ANY and ALL marginalized/minority groups. It's an inclusive space here 😌)
