Major Time Skip to Inter-High National Tournament
Itachiyama crushed opponent after opponent in the prelims and were now doing the same at the national tournament. Their winnings were due to Michiko's skills of observing and creative tactics. She tackled the opposing teams' weaknesses and mercilessly crumbled them to dust.
The small girl performed so well at the Inter-High prelims that the boys' coach offered her a position to be their assistant coach. Itachiyama had unsurprisingly made it to the final round facing the ultimate challengers: Inarizaki.
Unfortunately, Michiko had been absent due to personal obligations and Itachiyama had consequently lost the first set. However, just before the second set had started, Michiko came jogging onto the court.
"Sorry I'm late, how did we do the first set?" She gave a small smile to the team.
"It was very close, but we lost in the end," their coach sighed.
The Miya twins had been eyeing the new member. They looked at each other worried knowing that the teams Michiko had worked with in the past always won.
"Don't tell me," coach Norimune Kurosu started, "that she's a part of their team..."
"Well, she did transfer to Itachiyama, so there's no doubt that she took up their team," Osamu stated as he glanced at his cousin.
"What a troublesome brat," Atsumu chuckled knowing that they were fucked.
Heisuke Riseki, a first year, looked at his coach and the twins with eyes of curiosity. He was unfamiliar with the said girl having never been taken under her wing. The pinch server looked to Itachiyama's side and saw a short girl talking to the members.
"Who is she?" He asked.
"She's a tactician, who can figure out any and every weakness of a team and its players," Kita answered, "Michiko-chan played a key role in our success from last year,"
"Michi-Chan is a threat to any team she faces, and we just so happened to be the team going up against her," the grey-haired twin sighed.
Michiko's presence had ultimately turned the tides as Itachiyama took back the second set. The teams switched sides. The Miya twins stopped before their small cousin. She stared back at them with calculating eyes, the happy girl was gone as Michiko was in game mode.
"Michi-chan," the two boys greeted.
"Boys," she politely replied.
Everyone in the stadium became curious as they watched the small girl and famous Miya twins interact with one another. They seemed very familiar with each other, but there was no tension whatsoever. However, the three created an air of intense competitiveness.
"Seems like we took back that set," Michiko baited.
The twins were becoming slightly irritated at their cousin's taunting knowing that she would continue to put more fuel in the fire.
