3Steps Back

"What the hell are you here for?"

I could feel the rage burning my eyes I knew nothing good would come from her being here,

" What a lovely way to greet me."

"Cut with the bullshit Lexi why have you come?"

Hugh squeezed my hand reminding me where I was I composed my self quickly and began again.

"I apologise Lexi I'm going through a rough time as you can imagine."

"I don't care really I came to say leave my father alone!"

"What do you mean leave him alone he's only being tested that's all I want from him."

"Yeh right, first it will be this then you'll want to spend time with him, you are a stranger why should we help you."

"Is that my fault, no!"

"It's your fault my father is very stressed and is worrying about a girl and baby he hardly knows."

Hugh steps forward knowing I was ready to explode,

"Lexi I think it should be your father to say if he wants this or not, don't you agree?"

"I do but he is stressed Hugh and it's not good for him, I'm just looking out for him."

"Lexi I need him too this is my son I need him to survive and he is your nephew."

"I'll do anything you want," she said stroking his arm.

"Thanks I appreciate it."

I was so angry and she knew it was bothering me but I held my tongue for one reason and one reason only and that was Jake, if it weren't for the fact I need them on side I would have used her face as a punching bag, I smiled at the thought of punching her in the face, the door opened to Stan putting on his jacket,

"Lexi what are you doing here?"

"Daddy, I I just wanted them to back off you a little this is too much pressure."

"How is it too much pressure all I have ask is he do the test that's it!"

"You shut up, I don't even want to look at you."

"Lexi that is enough she is your sister so get used to it because I want her and the baby in our lives."

"See I knew this would happen."

"Lexi go now!"

Stan was annoyed I could tell as his face turns red just like mine, all I want is for him to do the test I can't think about mending relationships.

"Did you do the test Stan?"

"Yes they said we will find out in an hour or so."

"Oh ok, thanks for this."

"So then can I see my grandson?"

"Wen yeh sure, Hugh could you take him in, I just need 5 minutes."

"Ok baby are you ok?"

" Yeh I just need 5 minutes to collect my thoughts."

"Ok baby."

They both left the room and I was sitting in an armchair thinking how I felt like I took 3 steps back when Lexi said those things thankfully they weren't what Stan wanted but if he's not a match then 3 steps back is exactly where I'll be.
