Finding A Donor

The doctor walked into the room,

"Alex its time to check if you are a match, i have already tested Hugh and unfortunatly he is not a match."

"Oh right, yes that no problem."

I walked along the corridor to the doctors office i was angry with hugh for keeping this from me i was the mother of his child, his partner practically his wife yet he still preferred to keep me in the dark, how dare he i'm a growing adult as a matter of fact where the hell is he?

I sat in the doctors office i didnt realise how nervouse i was until now i looked around, there was a hospital bed in the far corner and just as you come through the door there is a large dark wood desk with two chairs on one side and one on the other i take one of the two seats pull it out and sit. The office was very clinical and cold it also had that funny clinical smell reminding me that my baby was just down the hall.

"Right Alex i'll be taking your blood today then if your blood is a match we will take a stem cell from you if not then we must test your family."

"Ok doctor go ahead."

It took just a few minutes for the doctor to take my blood and discuss all the procedures i just wanted to be with my baby and find out where hugh was. I thanked the doctor and walked back to where my boy was i hadnt even named him yet can you believe that!

I tried ringing hugh from the pay phone as you cant use phones on the ward, he didnt answer, where was he? What is more important then his son i was started to get even more pissed off, i decided to ring mother to let her know the latest,

"Hi mom its me."

" hello darling how are you?"

"I'm fine but the babys not."

"Alex dont worry hugh has informed us."

" what do you mean Hugh has informed you?"

" he rang yesterday and explained everything and what we need to do."

"Great, just great!"

"Alex are you ok?"

"Just great al see you soon."

"Ok darling."

So he can keep things from me then go behind my back and speak to my mother before me before discussing anything with me and even now he brings me here and instead of staying with me side by side he has gone, he should be fucking here!

1 Day earlier:-

I knew i had to start looking for doners since my blood isnt a match and alex was still out of it we had to move fast i knew she would wake soon i think its best she doesnt know anything until she is fit and well the last thing i need is her worrying about this i just need her to rest you see after she gave birth to our boy she passed out and then started to hemorrhage and lost alot of blood she has been out for 3 and a half days now,

"Nurse if Alex wakes up you will come get me do not notify her of the problem and if she asks where he is just say you are getting me do you understand!"

"Yes Mr Hendrix."

I decided to ring alex's mother to explain what needed to be done,

"Hello Hugh how are you, is Alex ok?"

"Yes she's doing fine, jullia i have something to tell you its about our son."

"No hugh please tell me he's ok, please tell me he's ok!"

"Well he could be alot better but he needs a bone marrow transplant to make that happen."

"Oh shit i knew this would happen i told george i knew i couldnt keep this to myself it always comes back to haunt you im so sorry Hugh."

I couldnt make sense of what she was saying to me,

"Julia what is wrong please explain it?"

"Please hugh you must not tell her if i need to tell her i must be the one to do it ok."

"Julia what is it?"

"George is not Alex's father!"

"What!, well who is?"

"His name is Stan knightly he left me when i was pregnant with Alex he left me broke with barely enough money to survive thats when i started my business and met George it was love at first sight and he wanted to marry me and take Alex on as his own, he never got intouch about her so i guess i just didnt mention it to her then she told me she was pregnant!"

"Why does that matter?"

"Because stan's brother had that same disease and needed a transplant too i was afraid thinking Alex would get it luckly she never but now my grandson has, what the hell ate we going to do!"

"Well Julia i know you might not like this but i am going to have to adk him for my son's sake and if that means Alex finding out so be it."

"Ok Hugh but i am the one to tell her ok!"

"Ok i will start the ball rolling."

More deciet how could i keep this away from my wife to be but i must let her mother talk to her first if she doesnt do it in time then i will have no choice but in the mean time i will find this Stan Knightly why does the name ring a bell!
