Waking Up

I awoke it was dark, no one around I knew I was in hospital as I could hear the heart monitor beeping, my baby where's my baby?

I quickly sat up my mouth was so dry I felt like I hadn't had a drink for days where was Hugh? I tried getting out of bed but I was strapped to wires I see a nurse call button so I press it,

"Hello Alex my name is Sarah I'm the nurse who will be looking after you today."

"Where's Hugh and my son?"

"Oh I'll get Mr Hendrix for you he won't be long you just stay and rest!"

"Where's my son?"

"Erm like I said I'll get Mr Hendrix."

She walked away without telling me, what the hell is going on I want my son!

I decided not to wait for Hugh I pulled out the needle in my hand which hurt but I didn't care I then pulled the wires off me which made the heart monitor go wild and quickly left the room I didn't know where he was but I knew I would find him he was alive I heard him cry!

I started to walk down the corridor looking through the glass on the door but couldn't find him where was he?

Hugh got to the room where Alex was to find a frantic nurse standing in the doorway,

"Ah Mr Hendrix where is Alex?"

"What do you mean where is she?"

"Well I told her I would send for you, she kept asking for her son but I thought it was best coming from you."

"How is she?"

"Well her vitals are good but she needs to rest!"

"I'll find her!"

"How is baby doing?"

"He's a fighter Sarah I'm sure he will be fine."

Hugh walked fast down the corridor where was she? He knew she would be frantic he should have been with her when she woke up but he couldn't year himself away from the incubator he knew Alex wouldn't mind he just had to find her and explain.

Hugh walked through the double doors and further down the next corridor when he seen Alex looking through one of the doors just standing there in her hospital gown,

"Alex darling,"

I turned quickly,

"Hugh! Where is he Hugh they won't tell me, Hugh they won't tell me!"

"It's fine baby he's in one of the incubators in ITC he was a little small and was finding it hard to breath so they are looking after him!"

"Hugh I want to see him now!"

"Ok we'll get you changed and then maybe take you down if your up to it."

"I'm going either way I need my baby Hugh why wouldn't they tell I don't understand!"

"They thought it would be better coming from me!"

"I am his ducking mother I should have been told when I asked."

"Ok baby it's ok."

I was furious with that nurse how dare she not tell me if that was her child she would want to know. I arrived back at my room and quickly put on my maxi dress and my sandals.

"Right Hugh take me to him."

"Alex calm down you need to rest!"

"Your kidding me right now Hugh, you take me or I will find him myself."

"Ok baby just promise me you will rest after we have been."

"I promise Hugh, I need to see him."
