Valentina's POV
"Valentina," My eyes opened again and I was laying down inside a tent with multiple blankets on top of me.
I tried to speak when I saw Itachi laying next to me, but was not able to. My mouth felt dry.
"You're inside my tent. Kakuzu was successfully able to stitched up your tongue, but you should try to let it heal before you try to talk," Itachi informed me.
I looked away feeling tears in my eyes.
"I know it was Tobi. The sick part was that he acts like he cares. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you."
I grabbed Itachi's hand desperately wanting to let him know that it was okay. That I was still alive and that was all that mattered.
"Itachi-San I wanted to see how Valentina was doing," Lily said coming in.
"Tobi did this to her. We need to leave as soon as possible," Itachi told her.
"I understand. I am just worried that we will get caught. Leader-sama is investigating who did it," she replied.
"Don't say anything. It won't matter. Tobi is working with them," Itachi instructed her.
"Understood. See you two in the morning," Lilian said and exited the tent.
"We are leaving as soon as we arrive at the rain village," Itachi whispered in my ear as he hugged me. "We need to leave as soon as possible. Overusing the sharingan is causing me to go blind. If I go completely blind, I will not be able to protect you."
I nodded and he kissed my hand.
The next morning, we weren't a secret anymore. There was no point in hiding it anymore. We held hands in front of others and rode together.
With Itachi by my side , nobody had a chance to say anything to me. Except for Kakuzu who asked me on our way to the rain village if I was able to recuperate sensation in my tongue after the stitches.
We knew we arrived to the rain village by the nonstop rain. The huge clay bird landed in front of a huge, rusted, dark mansion. Kind of creepy as well.
"Well at least we don't have to camp out in the rain," Kisame said.
"This is going to cost so much money," Kakuzu mumbled.
I liked traveling with this group better. Nobody played spin the bottle or bothered me.
Maybe this is what it's like to date Itachi. Nobody messes with you.
We walked up to the third floor and passed the bedrooms.
"Go to your assigned room. I'll go see you in a bit," Itachi said and then kissed my forehead.
He stopped in front of his room and I had to keep walking looking for mine.
My room was next to Tobi's. Oh no.
I made eye contact with Itachi before I entered my room.
I placed my suitcase on the bed and felt myself being pushed against the wall and the door slamming shut.
I opened my eyes and Obito was in front of me covering my mouth.
"Valentina-Chan, I've been wanting to talk to you. I'm sorry I had to reveal myself in this circumstances," he used his real voice. Almost like a whisper. "It was never my intention to hurt you," he ran his fingers through my hair. "But you're making it very hard by getting in the way."
My eyes traveled to where his lips would be if he weren't using that stupid orange mask.
"I won't do it again. I'm sorry.... Valentina you're mute not deaf! Look at me when I'm talking to you," he grabbed my chin and forced me to make eye contact.
I quickly began to untie Rin's headband from my waist and extended it to him.
He looked at it and then at me. He let go of my face and paused for a moment. As if thinking.
"No," he finally said.
I grabbed his gloved hand and tried to hand it to him, but he refused causing the headband to fall to the floor.
My eyes turned to the door as Itachi abruptly opened it.
"I can hear your bullshit lies all the way to my room," Itachi glared at Obito and then grabbed my arm.
Obito quickly grabbed my other arm stopping me from going with Itachi.
I watched as the two Uchihas stared at each other. Tension growing.
"Valentina-Chan!!!!" Lilian stormed inside my room. Worried written all over her face.
She forced a smile as her eyes landed on the scene. Her forced smile was so obvious.
"Tobi-kun! I've been looking for you. I need to show you something!!" Lilian chirped.
Obito let go of me and Itachi quickly guided me out of my room. I didn't even turn back to see what happened with Lilian, but I wondered if she was scared of him. I know I am scared of him.
