Valentina disconnected from reality but Orochimaru's hand on her shoulder urged her to quickly grab a napkin from the cabinet and clean the blood coming out of Lily's eye.
"Mom answer me! Why didn't you tell me that I was an Uchiha?" Lily raised her voice as an attempt to get answers from her mother who stood staring at her as if she were a stranger.
Valentina's hands shook as she took a step away from Lily, frightened at her tone of voice. She was too afraid to take a step closer and clean the blood coming from the eye of the young girl who she raised as her own.
"Mom!!!" Lily got to her feet and tossed a chair in an attempt to get Valentina's attention, but the older woman desperately avoided eye contact, still clutching the napkin she had previously grabbed to clean the blood from the angry Uchiha.
"Lily, darling settle down." Orochimaru's voice tried to calm the confused and emotional 15-year-old.
The tone he used to say her name took Valentina back to her younger days as an anbu who spied on Konoha under Orochimaru's orders. His tone so soft yet so manipulative. It always worked on her to calm her down. She hoped it would also calm down the enraged, young Uchiha.
"Grandpa, why didn't anyone tell me that I was an Uchiha?!" Lily's watery eyes left Valentina and turned to Orochimaru's for answers. "Why am I barely finding this out??"
"What is going on? Why are you screaming?" Sasuke's presence in the kitchen abruptly calmed Lily's demands for answers.
Sasuke's footsteps came into a stop as his eyes locked with Lily's sharingan eyes. He immediately turned to Valentina whose attention was fully on the tossed chair on the floor.
"Why didn't anyone tell me that I was an Uchiha?!" Lily asked again. "Mom, are you also an Uchiha or-?"
Sasuke's stare persuaded Valentina to answer, but what he wanted her to say was not known. The last time he and Valentina spoke regarding Lily's future was years ago.
He had made it clear that he would not allow Valentina to get off the hook and not raise his brother's only child. That it would serve as a reminder of his brother's lack of love for her, and a punishment for killing the child's biological mother."I am not an Uchiha," Valentina finally looked up and made eye contact with Lily. Eye contact with a stranger that she had to raised as her daughter in exchange for full pardon by the Konoha village for her war crimes.
"Then??" Lilian looked more confused than ever as her eyes travelled from Valentina to her uncle Sasuke.
"Your father was an Uchiha." Valentina's knees felt weak as the truth slowly started to come out.
"An Uchiha? I thought the only Uchiha left was uncle Sasuke and his family."
"Your father's name was Itachi." Valentina hadn't said his name in a long time. Sasuke quickly nodded, cautious of his niece's reaction.
"Lily's dad is Uncle Itachi?!"
Valentina, Sasuke, and Orochimaru turned around at the sight of the children curiously peeking into the kitchen. They all seemed confused and frightened by the screams and revelations.
"Itachi?? Itachi Uchiha??! The man who murdered the Uchiha clan??!" Lily exclaimed feeling the need to sit down.
Valentina quickly locked eyes with Sasuke's at Lily's exclamation. She was not sure what to say to that statement.
"Mitsuki, go play outside and show your friends your new jutsu." Orochimaru instructed his son, desperately wanting the children to not witness the impulsive situation that was quickly unfolding.
