AFTER FINALS

"SO WE'RE NOT supposed to take any long trips over summer vacation?" you asked. "yeah, apparently that's what the school said." she responded to you with crossed arms with crossed arms.

momo placed a hand to her chest with a disappointed frown, "how unfortunate, i was supposed to spend several weeks touring venice with my parents." she explained. "whAt iS yOur LifE?" ochako beamed.

"awh, and i just bought like a bagillion new swim suits!" mina slouched down with a disappointed expression. you frowned, you too were hoping to maybe head out for a small vacation with your parents. guess that wasn't happening.

"well turns out, that's what happens when your class is attacked by the league of villains." jirou held her hand out with a small smile.

you crossed your arms with a small frown, mina started waving her arms around in frustration. "i wanna do something i don't wanna spend my whole summer bored!" the pink girl exclaimed.

"i've got it!" hagakure who stood next to you said. "why don't we hang out at the school pool over summer vacation!" she suggested.

you raised your eyebrows, "that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. plus we'll save money if we just come here rather than going to a public pool," you smiled.

PRESENT DAY

"i didn't know you guys would be here." you and the girls greeted mineta and kaminari who had just arrived at the school pool as you and the girls were stretching.

"THIS WASN'T THE PLAN!" kaminari and mineta exclaimed as iida brought them over to the other males of class 1-A. you furrowed your brows, "plan?" you repeated as you stood up straight.

shrugging it off you turned to the rest of the girls, "i brought a volleyball, anyone wanna play?" you grabbed the ball that rested by the fence and spun it on your finger. "awesome!" mina cheered, and so you all got into the pool.

you set the ball to tsu which she used her tongue to throw it up. you all cheered and laughed, having a good time as you tossed the ball to each other.

"THE NEXT TIME I BEAT YOU I WANT YOU TO BE AT YOUR STRONGEST YOU DAMN NERD!"

your lips parted at the familiar voice, turning your head to the hot head who had entered the pool. "bakugou?" you said, catching the ball and nodding in agreement for you and the girls to take a break.

you got out of the water, "hey i got your message sorry i'm late! took a while to convince bakugou to come out!" kirishima apologized and you stood up straight. "it's all thanks to you l/n!" the red haired male said.

you turned to him, pointing to yourself in confusion. "me?" you said. kirishima nodded as you approached him, "pretty sure when bakugou heard you would be there he was convinced enough." he said quietly as you looked at the ash blonde in front of you both.

you raised your eyebrows, "really?" you said in surprise.

"so, deku," bakugou started, making the green haired boy's breath hitched. you and kirishima sweat dropped at bakugou's words. "you wanna settle who's the best between us right now?! huh?!" he made tiny explosions in his hands.

you walked over to the girls to dry off, overhearing that iida proposed a contest to see who could swim fifty meters the fastest— quirks allowed. "maybe we should help out too?" uraraka said.

you nodded "hey, iida." you called out to the blue haired male as you and the girls walked over. "why don't you let us help you out with this?" momo suggested.

and so class 1-A was by the pool, you had a whistle around your neck. "okay everyone on your marks, get set," you said, then blew the whistle to signal them to start.

you found yourself staring at bakugou during the race, which the boy didn't even touch the water. his heels skidded on the concrete, the ash blonde won and proudly smiled. "HOW'S THAT YOU SIDEKICKS?!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" sero and kirishima exclaimed, pointing to the blonde in anger. "you didn't even touch the water," you pointed out, rubbing the nape of your neck.

"THAT'S CALLED FREESTYLE SWIMMING!" he yelled back. you inhaled deeply, "freestyle swimming my ass, anyways!" you turned to the next race at hand.

"dammit! i can't believe he stopped the race like that!" bakugou said and kicked a rock in frustration. "yeah i know how you feel but cool your blasters man." kirishima told the ash blonde.

you nodded, "those two aren't just your opponents you know." you held out your hand while your arms were crossed. "shut up! i don't care if they're my classmates or not! i won't let them get ahead of me," katsuki said.

"isn't that what it means to be number one? to be the best i'll have to be stronger than all might. it's only a matter of time." bakugou said. you raised your eyebrows and nodded.

"yeah, i think you're doing good right now though." you said and looked ahead at the shimmering water in front of the three of you. kirishima and bakugou turned to you, "that's quite the compliment from you y/n." kirishima smiled.

you nodded, "it's true. bakugou did get first in the sports festival now didn't he? now i think that's quite the accomplishment," you looked at kirishima.

bakugou stared in front of him while he walked and you and kirishima talked. his face was relaxed, his lips parted a little bit. maybe you were just trying to make katsuki feel better, but in all honesty you thought the explosion quirked male was doing quite good right now despite his personality.

and if he had to be honest, maybe hearing you would be at the pool did convince him just a tad bit.
