"What!? Jeeju, come on! It's your first Holi after becoming my Jeeju!"
Roo was trying all she could, but Zayn wasn't budging. As soon as they got back home, Roo announced they need to go sweets shopping for Holi and Zayn said he would help her in the shopping but he's not going to the party. His excuse?
"It's the final week of the project, Roo. The presentation is not completed yet. Too many edits left. If I get a whole day free I can actually work. And I'm not interested in Holi!"
Not interested in Holi? Is this the same Zayn who drowned her in the pool that was filled with colours last year? The one who, along with Louis, pranked Liam into getting attacked by water balloons? The same Zayn who wouldn't miss a chance to pour water colour on Farooq Chacha? Huh!?
"Don't lie Jeeju! You love Holi!"
"I'm sorry Roo, I can't make it this year. You guys have fun."
Roo sighed sitting down on the couch. What happened to her Jeeju!?
"Liam Bhai! Wait!!"
Liam had gone into the kitchen when he saw Roo trying to convince Zayn for Holi. He didn't want to see Roo getting disappointed. He knew Zayn was not going to agree.
Once he was sure Zayn went upstairs, he slowly walked back out from the kitchen with an apple in his hand. Since he was in the kitchen..
He should've made sure the area was clear before he walked out.
"What is it Roo?"
"What's up with your husband?"
Liam sighed. Now what was he going to say to that?
"He's just stressed because of work. He thinks he can't take a day off or else this project will be a failure!"
"Can you please tell him to come celebrate Holi? He'll listen if you ask him!"
Liam smiled sadly. Right. As if.
"No Roo, he won't. He didn't even listen to Louis. He won't listen to me."
"But I want to play Holi with him!"
Roo is a tough girl and she hates crying. But right now if she didn't get Zayn to say yes, she might cry. And it has nothing to do with playing Holi with him. She could feel the tension between her brother and Jeeju. And it's not even the tension they used to have. This is serious. They don't even talk to each other. And they always seem sad. Holi might help bring them together. It was so much better when they fought with each other. Now they're just ignoring each other. Or more like Zayn ignoring Liam and her stupid brother isn't doing anything! How can he let his husband just ignore him!?
Liam patted Roo on her head and went upstairs. He'll probably take his laptop with him and go sit in the balcony. He can't share the room with Zayn right now.
Roo laid down on the couch, staring at the ceiling. Who can make Jeeju say yes?

Zayn felt the door open, but he didn't look up from his laptop. He didn't want to see Liam right now. Or ever.
But he couldn't hear footsteps. Or any other noise that indicated Liam came in. Not that he cared.
Alright, he's curious. Is Liam standing at the door or-
No one's at the door? Who opened the door then? Is the house haunted? But Zeenat has gone back to Pakistan!
Zayn turned to the bed and gasped, almost falling out of the chair.
"What the- Mariyam! When did you get in!!??"
