Thirty Five

Liam has been up for 10 minutes now. But he doesn't want to get up. When he woke up, after a really long night of sleep, he found himself curled up against Zayn, with Zayn having a protective arm around him. He then stared at Zayn for five minutes before realising what happened yesterday night. So he really had that nightmare, and he really cuddled with Zayn, and he really asked Zayn to stay.

Now he's not cuddled up with Zayn. They have a decent 3 inches distance between them. But Liam was still holding Zayn's right hand with his right. Zayn was lying on his back, and Liam was lying on his side, facing Zayn, and he was holding Zayn's hand. Why can't he let go? It's not like Zayn would disappear if he let go.

Liam took a deep breath before taking his hand away from Zayn. He needs to get up. Why? He doesn't know. Is he going to the office today? Can he take a sick leave?

He tried to get up and groaned when his body ached. He hadn't realised it yesterday. But now his whole body hurts. All the falling, and getting pushed on surfaces, and him fighting back.. His muscles are complaining. Maybe he should take a hot shower. And he should do that before Zayn woke up, because if Zayn woke up and started asking questions about yesterday..

Liam got out of the shower wearing another set of sweats and a long sleeved T, effectively covering his wrist, and walked out pretending his body wasn't aching.

Zayn was up, sipping his coffee, doing something on his laptop. Liam sighed in relief. If Zayn is busy, then that means he won't notice Liam. He can maybe slip out without Zayn noticing-

"Hey! Morning!"

Liam did a double take. Because, what!? When did they start greeting each other?

He turned to Zayn with a frown. But Zayn was smiling at him and.. Okay. So maybe Zayn was being nice?

"Um.. Morning.."

"Wanna go down and have breakfast together?"

Zayn was testing the waters. He wanted to bring up last night. But he didn't know how to ask Liam about it.

"Don't you have work today?"

Liam looked at the clock. It was already 8:30 in the morning and Zayn is still here.

"I gotta go to the office, yeah. But the meetings with dealers are done. Wrapped that up yesterday. So, breakfast?"

Liam just nodded and went down stairs with Zayn. Roo was happy to finally see them together at the dining table but she didn't have time to eat with them. Her friends were waiting outside, and they needed to leave quick for school.

Zayn kept looking at Liam who was just pecking at his food. He wanted to urge Liam to eat but how can he go about that? He thanked God when CJ came to the rescue.

"Liam.. What are you doing? Eat properly!"

She scolded Liam and Liam only sighed before pushing his plate away.

"I don't want anything Ammi. My stomach feels weird. I'm taking a sick leave today."

Kareena's face clearly showed the surprise she felt. Liam taking a sick leave? Even when Liam had a fever he was ready to go to work and when she didn't allow him to, he worked at home. And now he's taking a sick leave because his stomach was feeling weird?

"What is it? Do you want anything else to eat?"

Zayn asked in a small voice. He was waiting for Liam to snap. Questions after questions..
