Leviathan's POV

I felt the drip of water against my face when the sense of feeling finally came back to me and I remembered how to open my eyes. Everything was dark.

"Where am I?" I wondered aloud.

"You're in the Outlands," a voice came out of the darkness, a feminine yet hollow voice.

I screamed in response, completely startled, not expecting anyone to be listening to me. The scream echoed.

"I'm sorry. I- I didn't mean to scare you," the voice said. I looked harder and saw a shadowy figure. "I guess after that I should introduce myself to appear more friendly. I am Shadow Storm. Hello Leviathan," Shadow came into the hazy light.

"You. I know you from somewhere. Where have I seen you before?" I ask curiously, not even acknowledging the fact that this mysterious girl knew my name. I had the foggiest feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had seen her somewhere before.

"I have come to you in dreams when you're asleep on the couch and visions when you've drank so much you pass out," she paused taking in a breath, deciding what to say next and how to say it. "Or perhaps you saw me that night, in the bathroom in the mirror or right before it happened. Do you remember what happened, Leviathan?" Shadow said, her voice echoing.

"I think so, the accident. Emaline, my beloved wife Emaline; we were arguing in the car and I was drunk and my beautiful daughter Kamellia, she was in the backseat," memories played through my mind, one right after the other until I teared up thinking about it. My brain tried to decipher which memories were reality and which ones it made up to make what happened seem surreal.

"You pulled the wheel a little too hard and the world you knew came crashing down. Crashing down the hill into a tree, a lethal tree," Shadow said as if reading my thoughts.

Just then a loud crackle came from somewhere close by making both of us jump and Shadow gasp.

"We need to go now. We're not supposed to be here," she grabbed my arm, pulled me up and I felt my body go weightless. "Hold your breath. It's about to get a whole lot more bizarre and damp so you might want to cover your head too." Unknowingly I did what Shadow said anyway. She flew past stalactites and stalagmites and running brooks of water. It was then when I saw what we were flying towards did I realize what she meant by damp.

Kamellia's POV

Have you ever felt what it's like to die? I have.

At least I think I have.

Blank, empty, white space all around me. It was all I could see for miles.

"Hey! Is anyone there? Can anyone hear me?" I called out into the abyss. I started walking but stopped dead in my tracks when I saw it: a glowing ball of fiery light manifested in front of me. I inched closer towards it. A pair of closed eyes appeared to be trapped within the light. I reached out slowly and gently to touch the light but before I could do so, the eyes snapped open and looked at me. I stumbled backward, falling over in surprise. I looked back at the eyes, they seemed to be looking off somewhere else.

"Freaky," I said getting up and brushing myself off. I continued walking and came across a hunched over looking boy squatting on the ground. He couldn't have been more than 10 years old.

"Excuse me. Can you tell me, where are we?" I ask getting closer to him. He was facing away from me. You know those cliche door creaking open noises that they use in horror movies? That same noise echoed from somewhere around us as the boy turned and death stared me straight in the eyes.

People always say that when you look into a person's eyes and you can see anything: hope, fear, beauty, wonder, then you have nothing to worry about. It's only when you look and see nothing, then you should worry. The boy's eyes had nothing in them but death and not the sorrowful kind you feel when you've just lost someone. I looked into his eyes and saw the evil serial killer kind of death.

My first instinct was to run. So I did, fast and far, as fast and as far as my legs could take me until they got tired. So I slowed down and leaned against a giant 10 foot tall letter.

Wait a second.

What? Okay this place is way too creepy I thought. I looked over to my right and saw a giant R, then over my shoulder was an E. I swerved around and saw Q and U leaning against each other, I and E not far to my right and finally turning back around to the letter I was leaning against: M. My mind tried to make sense of what the letters spelled: R-E-Q-U-I-E-M. Requiem?

"Kamellia. Pssst. Kamellia. Over here," a voice whispered in my ear. I turn towards it and see something that wasn't there before. At the center of the giant Q letter was a swirling purple and teal portal. Something urged me to go towards it like a paranormal force pushed me and my body moved, unsure where I was heading. I climbed up the letter and was met face to face with the portal. I took in an exhale of air and stepped inside.

Sorry for getting this out so late, there were problems with my Wattpad on my personal computer. But excuses aside, that was a fun, interestingly weird chapter. Please tell me what you think, if you have any theories for what's gonna happen next or suggestions for grammar and punctuation editing please comment. There are 928 words in this chapter. Chapter 4 will come out next Sunday (January 17th, 2021). Until then I love you all!- Silverstorm
