I laughed lightheartedly as Peter lifted me up onto the edge of my desk. He pressed his lips tightly against mine, humming into the kiss.
"Sir," Smoak said from above. "Mr. Beaufont needs to speak with you in the training room."
"Tell him I'm busy," I said as I kissed Peter again.
"It's rather urgent, sir," he said.
I pulled away from the kiss and let my hands drift down to his chest. I sighed lightly.
"How urgent?" I said.
There was a brief moment of silence.
"Urgent," he said slowly.
I nodded once and Peter stepped back, allowing me to step down from the desk.
"Tell him I'm on my way," I said.
"Of course, sir," Smoak said.
I picked my phone off the desk and slid it into my pocket.
"We'll...finish this later," I said to Peter.
He nodded with a smile and I walked out of my office.
When I got down to the training room I heard strange sounds and a bright white light shined through the doorway. I picked up the pace slightly and stepped into the doorway.
"Charlie, what the...hell..."
Charlie was standing close to the wall, a strange white blip floating above the boxing ring.
It was shaped like a serrated oval, with flickering edges. The white light seemed to pulse and waver.
"What did you do?" I said as I walked closer to it.
"I didn't do anything! It happened while I was lifting!"
I squinted a little as blobs of color appeared in the middle.
I jumped as two men flew out and landed on the floor of the ring.
My hand immediately shot to my chest and my nanosuit covered me.
They were younger men, one with black hair and one with white. Other than that, they were ultimately the same, twins.
My suit whined with energy as my weapon systems charged up. I raised my palms as they pushed themselves to their feet.
The one with white hair scanned Charlie and I quickly, then braced his legs. I prepared to fire but a moment later he was gone with a whoosh and a crackle.
"What the-?"
I turned in circles as I saw the boy move in a blur of moment around the training room. Super-speed.
"I got him!" Charlie said summoning electricity and slamming his hands against the ground.
Electricity rippled out across the floor beneath my hovering feet. I watched as the running boy was shocked and he fell to his hands and knees.
I turned to the other boy as the electricity reached him. I narrowed my eyes as he reached towards the ground, his hands glowing blue. As the electricity reached his feet it arced up his legs and arms as if he was conducting it.
I darted over to Charlie and dropped in front of him as the brunette boy brought his hands towards his chest, seemingly absorbing the energy. I jerked my hand and my energy shield was projected. The brunette boy threw his arms to the side and blue energy cascaded in every direction away from his body, his brother seemingly unharmed by it.
My shield met resistance, but held strong. When the energy stopped I let the shield fall and immediately fired a laser at the boy. His hands were thrown up and the laser collided with a small shield of blue energy.
"Char!" I called over my shoulder.
"On it!" he said as he stepped up next to me and pulled his hands behind him, then forward, gathering lightning. He thrust his hands just next to mine and the lightning crashed against the shield with the laser.
The shield burst apart and the brunette was thrown backwards, crashing against the wall and landing next to his brother, who was still recovering from being shocked.
Charlie and I walked over. I aimed a palm as he pulled water out of the nearby water jug, he held it around him then clenched his fists, turning it to sharp icicles, all pointing at the boys.
I let my helmet dematerialize.
"Who are you?" I said to them.
The boys slowly looked up to us, defeated. They both immediately furrowed their eyebrows.
"Uncle Y/N?" the brunette said innocently.
"...what?" Charlie and I said.
"What are you...wearing?" the white haired boy said.
"I'm sorry," Charlie said. "Am I missing something? Should we know you?"
The two boys shared a glance then nodded at each other.
"We don't exist on this world, do we?" the brunette said.
"...this world?" Charlie said.
"Yeah, this is gonna be a little bit of an explanation," the white haired boy said. "Got time?"
I looked over to Charlie and he nodded with a shrug. I tapped my chest and my suit returned to my reactor. Charlie turned his ice back to water and returned it to the water jug.

"Lemme get this straight..." Charlie said with a soft grunt as he lowered the bar to his chest, then lifted it again. "You're telling me there are...parallel universes, where different Earths exist? Where things play out differently than they did here?"
"More or less," the brunette boy, Billy, said.
"And you're from one of them?" Charlie said. "A version where I'm not best friends with Y/N and he's not Renegade? A world where he has powers and he and Wanda are partners?"
"Yup," the white haired boy, Tommy, said.
"And you're Wanda's kids?" I said.
They nodded.
I looked up as Charlie set the bar back down on the props, then leaned up from the bench. His grey cutoff was drenched with sweat and his large shoulders and arms held droplets. His brown hair was matted to his forehead. He picked up his water bottle and took a sip.
"And...my father?" I said slowly.
I ignored Charlie's sympathetic look.
"Your father?" Tommy said.
"You figured out who your father was on this earth?" Billy said.
"Figured out?" I said. "I always knew."
"Oh, who is it?" they said.
"Tony," I said obviously. "Tony Stark."
Tommy seemed to choke on his own saliva.
"The Tony Stark?" he said.
I nodded.
"Wow," he said. "No wonder you were so smart."
I smiled awkwardly.
"What about him?" Billy said.
"Is he...alive?" I asked nervously.
They nodded obviously.
I looked down to the ground in thought as I considered this. I didn't have to say anything for them to understand that he wasn't alive here.
"Wait a minute," Charlie said. "Why did you say 'No wonder he was so smart?'"
The two of them shared a glance.
"Y/N died not that long ago on our earth," Tommy said.
I was shocked by this statement.
"How?"
"There was this big threat, intergalactic threat. He...nearly killed a lot of people. He did kill some of our friends. You...you performed this amazing feat with your powers. It destroyed him, but...took you with him."
"Thanos," I said with some disdain.
They nodded with confused looks.
"He's...who cost my father his life."
"How many worlds have you been to?" Charlie asked.
"Quite a few," Billy said. "We were trying to reach some allies on a familiar world, but we were sent off course. Ended up here."
"How many variations and earths are there?" I asked.
Tommy and Billy shared a look.
"Countless," they both said.
