I walked into the tall apartment building and up the stairs to my floor, then unlocked my door and stepped inside. My apartment wasn't too big, but it was nice. I set my bag down, then went into my small kitchen to pour myself a glass of wine.
My eyes drifted up to the shelf above my sink where a picture of me and Peter sat. It was the two of us on our ski date all those years ago. I smiled sadly and pressed a kiss to my fingers, then pressed them to the glass.
I turned around as I took another sip and jumped as I saw an unfamilair woman standing there. She had dark black hair, a wide jaw, and hazy blue eyes.
"Who are you?" I said, setting my glass down and tensing my muscles.
"I've been looking for someone like you for a long time," she said. "A long time. My name's Agatha Harkness, deary. And I think we can help each other."
      I narrowed my eyes.
"See, here's the thing," she said. "You're a unique individual. Born a being of great power, but didn't know it till your magic was awakened."
      "Magic?" I said, confused.
"Yes, magic," she said. "Did I not mention that you were born a witch? What? Did you think that your powers were made from science?"
      She laughed a little.
"No, no, no," she said. "That little serum you took didn't give you powers. It only awoke them. They were always there, waiting to be harnessed."
"I...don't know what you're talking about," I said.
"Oh, Y/N," she said mockingly. "Don't play coy with me. You know magic is real. I'm a witch and I know you've seen it with your own two eyes. Who's that new sorcerer? Doctor Strange, is that it? Is it that hard to believe that you were born with the capability to do magic too?"
"I...even if I could use magic, what do you want with me?" I said.
She smiled a little and sighed wistfully.
"Boys are so dense nowadays," she rambled. "I want to teach you. Help you to harness your powers, your magic. Maybe even be my partner in crime, y'know?"
She plastered on a smile and laughed lightheartedly.
"What do you say?" she asked.
"So, if I agree...you'll help me harness and enhance my powers, in exchange for...nothing? You just want to do this?"
"I want to make sure a rogue, untrained witch isn't gonna go out of control, buck wild and destroy themselves or something else. I wanna avoid anything potentially dangerous."
"...right," I said, dropping my gaze to the ground and examining the ground.
"Does that sound like a good idea?" she said. "No dangerous and catastrophic events?"
I looked over my shoulder, over the counter, again. My eyes landed on Peter's through the glass of the picture frame. My heart began to wilt a little. I turned back to Agatha and nodded hesitantly.
"That sounds like a good idea," I said.

      A month later...
"Come on, Y/N," Agatha called out. "You've been making great progress! You can do this too! Now, do it!"
I hovered about ten feet off the ground, a few yards away from Agatha as she watched from the deck of her cabin. I balanced myself in the air, then held my hands out in front of me. I concentrated on my power, then crossed them in front of me.
For a moment, all I could see was the blue energy from my powers and magic, then I began to think about where I wanted to be. I focused my mind until a clear picture had taken form. I uncrossed my hands and my surroundings were clear again. I was standing a few feet away from Agatha on the wooden deck. She turned to me and smiled a little, nodding approvingly.
"Congratulations, you can warp, teleport, from place to place," she said, waving me after her inside the large cabin. "It's always been a little difficult for me. I tend to focus on more physical aspects of magic, rather than mental aspects such as that. It will get progressively harder as you attempt to traverse long distances. But, baby steps."
I closed the sliding glass door behind me and went to sit down at the small dining table as I resumed the book I had been reading before.
"You've been making great leaps and bounds these last few weeks," Agatha said as she waved her hands about, cleaning some dishes up in the kitchen. "You're clearly a very talented witch, like no other apprentice I've seen before."
I smiled sheepishly and blushed a little, as I looked over to her.
      "Thanks, Agatha," I said.
"Gosh, to be young, virile, and powerful again," she said with a slight chuckle. "As a witch like me gets older, it gets harder to maintain your powers. I've done better than others, some witches when they get older, rather than practicing on maintaining their powers just let them fizzle out, but I've grown too attached to mine."
"I can see why," I said with a smile. "Having this much control over my magic has been amazing. I can't believe this is what I was missing out on."
"Tell me, Y/N," she said as she began to prepare a kettle of tea. "What do you know about a town named Westview?"
I racked my brain for the name, which sounded familiar.
"I'm not sure," I said. "I recognize the name, but I don't remember why I know it. Why?"
"Oh, nothing," she said. "Just something I head on the news the other day. It...sounded familiar to me as well. I thought maybe you might know why. No big deal."
I shrugged and returned to my book, reading up on a book about illusion and deceptive spells.
"You hungry?" she asked, as the kettle began to whistle.
"Not really," I said. "I'm pretty tired. I think I might just finish this chapter, then turn in for the night."
She hummed a little and nodded as she started to prepare her tea.
"Sounds good to me," she said. "Be up at the same time tomorrow. We're gonna move on to some transmutation spells."
"Sounds good, see you tomorrow," I said, closing my book and standing up, walking over to the stairs.
I walked up the steps with the large book tucked under my arm, then went into my room. I locked the door behind me, as I always did, then sat down at my desk with a sigh.
I went back to reading my chapter, but sighed as I realized I wasn't actually taking any of it in. I leaned back in my chair with a huff, then narrowed my eyes as I thought a little.
      "Westview..." I mumbled.
I pushed my book aside, then picked up my laptop and centered it on my desk. I opened it to a new window and lightly tapped the keys as I thought about what to type. I resulted with the basic: Westview.
Several results came up and I began to scan through some of them, until I landed on one that jogged a memory.
"Westview, New Jersey..." I said to myself. "That's where Wanda said she and Vision were going to live. She said that they bought some land and were going to build a house...before he was killed..."
I changed my search to: Westview, New Jersey
I read through some of the results, which were rather ambiguous. I sighed and clicked on a picture of the welcome sign.
"What does Agatha want to know about Wanda's town for...?" I whispered.
