*This chapter was not requested but was created because of the new Falcon and the Winter Soldier show. I am still working on some chapters that were requested, so those will be released sometime soon. There will not be a trivia question at the end of this chapter because of that. This new story line will also reference several plot points of the show so if you don't want spoilers you should probably watch that first. Enjoy!*

I walked back and forth across my office as I waited to be taken off hold, the line beeping every few moments in between stretches of boring, slow music.
"Sorry for the wait, Mr. Stark," the woman said as the hold ended. "The error we found in the system was just a malfunction. The numbers were, in fact, correct. The computer was just reading old sales that were supposed to be erased."
"I know the math is right, I checked it myself," I said, annoyed.
"Yes, of course, Mr. Stark," she said. "Sorry for the wait again."
"Yes, sorry," I said, feeling bad for how I responded. "It's...just been a long day. I don't mean to snap. Thank you, for resolving the issue. Have a nice day."
"Of course, sir. You as well."
I hung up the phone and walked over to my desk, setting the phone down. I ran a hand through my hair as I looked out the windows, thinking about when I'd get to go home. I turned back around as the door to my office opened. It was Maggie, my assistant.
"Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Stark," she said. "I just needed to let you know that the checklist we formulated this morning is finished now that you've finished talking to finance."
"Thank you, Maggie," I said.
She started to leave, but I stopped her.
"Why don't you head home early?" I said. "It's been a long day since we discovered that bad shipment this morning. We both have fried brains right now. Head home, see your family, get some rest."
"Yes, Mr. Stark. Thank you," she said.
I smiled a little and nodded as she turned to leave.
"You know, Mr. Stark, you deserve a break too. Don't work yourself too hard."
I scoffed a little with a smile.
"Yeah, I'd kill for an excuse to go home early today. Unfortunately, I've still got some things to do. Say hi to Mark and little Mark for me."
She smiled and nodded, then turned to leave and head home. I sighed and sat down at my desk, beginning to sort through some papers and data on my computer. I took my glasses off my face for a moment to rub my eyes when my phone began to ring again. I cursed under my breath as I began to get annoyed again. I quickly answered the phone, most likely coming from one of the divisions downstairs, and brought it to my ear.
"What is it now?" I said.
"Oh, um, sorry," an unfamiliar voice said. "Is this Mr. Stark?"
"Oh, uh, yes. Sorry. I thought this was someone else. Who is this?" I replied.
"My name is Doctor Raynor. I work as a therapist for the US government."
I heard a faint 'Give me the phone' in the background, causing me to furrow my eyebrows. Whatever it was she didn't seem to care.
"I've been tasked with evaluating the mental state of James Buchanan Barnes, weekly. Almost like a parole officer, if he doesn't check up with me, he gets punished. Part of the agreement made by the government, anyway, I'm supposed to help him re-acclimate into normal society as a citizen."
I heard the voice in the background again, 'Give me the phone. Give it now. C'mon, doc.' I recognized the voice now, Bucky.
"He's been making some progress, righting the wrongs he's made in the past, slowly checking them off his list. However-"
"Don't listen to her!" Bucky's voice in the background shouted.
I smirked a little as I waited for the doctor to continue.
"However, he's been having some trouble getting back into everyday life, uh, socially," she said.
"How do you mean?" I asked.
"He's not trusting people. Not communicating. He's ignored all his texts from Sam Wilson. The only calls in his log for the last month have been to me, except for nine missed calls from you over the last six months. He's alone."
"That...is...unfortunate."
"I'm not alone!" Bucky's distant voice shouted again. "Ignore her!"
I took a brief moment to consider what I was being told, then smiled a little and spun my chair around to look out the glass.
"Just out of curiosity," I said. "Is he still living in Brooklyn?"
"Yes, he is still living in Brooklyn," she said, clearly directing that more at Bucky than me.
"Thank you, Dr. Raynor. I'll be sure to check up on him," I said with a smirk.
"No need!" Bucky shouted again.
"Thank you for your time, Mr. Stark," she said. "Have a good day."
"You as well," I said.
I hung up the phone, then sighed with a smile as I stuffed my phone into my pocket.
"It seems an excuse to leave early fell into my lap after all," I said.
"It does indeed, sir," Smoak said.
