"Everyone in position?" I said into comms, standing on the edge of a cliff, looking down into a clearing of trees beneath me.
Slowly, one by one, the rest of the team checked in, confirming their locations. I zoomed in on my visor, scanning the area beneath me, waiting for the main event.
    "Any movement?" I continued.
    "Nothing over here," Peter replied.
"I have nothing as well," Adonis said.
"I've got something," Lucy said after a moment. "I hear vehicles. They're approaching."
"I can see them," Brooks said. "Four Humvees guarding a transport truck, two in front, two in back."
"Heading towards the clearing?" I asked.
"Seems like it," Brooks said. "They're out of my sight now. Moving to follow."
"I see them," Peter said. "They're headed toward Lucy's position, slowing down. They look like they're struggling with the terrain. Probably not used to driving through the forest."
    "Adonis," I said. "You're up."
"I am on it," he replied.
There was a large grunt of effort from his end of the comms, then I watched as a tree fell to the side, striking the ground. The ground shook slightly at the impact.
    "Finished," Adonis said into comms.
"Good job," I replied. "Get up into the trees so they don't see you."
A few moments later I could see the Humvees approaching the clearing I was watching. I zoomed in and scanned them with my sensors, obtaining data on the vehicles. They slowed to a stop in front of the downed tree that Adonis had knocked over.
"Looks like we've got four men in each Humvee, plus the driver. The truck has a few crates of cargo in the back, only two men guarding it. One driver, one passenger. That rolls out to twenty-four men."
"Child's play," Lucy said into comms.
My visor highlighted a figure running through the forest, deftly and silently. Lucy. She was moving to her next position. She neared the clearing, then stealthily climbed into the trees and made her way to the edge of the clearing, standing on a branch and looking down into it. She looked up to me, knowing I could see her. She gave a small salute, then turned her attention back to the convoy.
I looked to the other side of the clearing as Peter slowly scaled the side of the tree, climbing it easily. He made his way high into the branches, then used his webbing to hang upside down from a branch, watching the convoy as well.
After a few minutes I got checks from Adonis and Brooks that they were in position as well. After a few moments of waiting, the driver of the first Humvee in the convoy got out and walked over to the fallen tree.
There was shouting as he communicated with someone further back in the convoy. A few moments later, some of his friends joined him, looking at the fallen tree. One of them went over to the base of the tree, looking at where it had splintered.
They seemed to realize that it hadn't fallen on its own. There was some more shouting as they called out to each other. Smoak automatically patched me into their comms as one of them picked up a walkie-talkie.
"We've got company. Someone's cut down this tree to block our path. Stay sharp, all Humvee units investigate."
It didn't take long for the rest of the men to exit their vehicles as well and begin to make their way to the front of the convoy. Some of the men climbed over the fallen tree and into the clearing, looking around cautiously. Others made their way through the foliage deeper into the forest, scanning for us.
I watched as Peter and Lucy turned away from the clearing, going to take care of the men in the forest. I could see men being strung up by Peter, being wrapped tightly in web cocoons. Lucy was quickly and silently taking the men down, knocking them out in various ways. There were ten men inside the clearing, turning in circles, keeping their eyes on the foliage.
"It seems everyone's had their fun, but me," I said. "Guess it's my turn. Hit em', Smoak."
    "Activating proximity sensors," he replied.
In the clearing there were several beeps and whines, lights shining through the dirt on the ground. Five devices that I had planted in the dirt earlier powered on, forming a circle of lights. Electricity shot out of the devices and crackled along the men, causing them to scream and jerk, before collapsing to the ground.
    "Wow," Adonis said.
"I hope that didn't come as too much of a shock," Smoak said smugly, earning a scoff from me.
"Not funny at all," Brooks said.
"No need to be a sourpuss, Mr. Charlson," Smoak said. "I found the joke quite amusing."
    "Uh huh," Brooks said.
I stepped off the edge of the cliff, my thrusters powering on and lowering me to the ground. I walked around the fallen bodies of the men in the clearing, making my way over to the convoy. Brooks and Adonis came out of the hiding places and joined my sides. I lifted into the air and over the tree, landing on the other side slightly and continuing forward. I walked past the Humvees and made my way to the truck in the middle.
The passenger got out of the door quickly, raising a rifle at me. They began to fire rounds, but they bounced off my suit harmlessly. I shot him with a tase, then aimed through the open passenger door and shot the driver with one as well. Adonis and Brooks had caught up with me and together we opened the doors in the back. Two guards were waiting, and leveled guns at us, but Adonis and Brooks took them out with no problem.
I let my helmet dematerialize as I stepped up into the truck and began to unclasp one of the cargo containers. Once it was undone I lifted the heavy lid and slid it off. I peered inside, revealing many artifacts and relics scattered around some protective padding. Adonis took the spot on my side a moment later, looking in as well.
    "Is this it?" He said.
"Looks like it," I said. "It's definitely important artifacts, but I don't know what Triad wants with it."
"Or why they went through all that trouble to steal it," Brooks added.
"Exactly," I said. "Come on. Let's get these crates out into the clearing so we can get a better look at them. And let's load the men into the back of this truck, lock them in the back."
Adonis nodded and replaced the lid on the crate, lifting it easily. I grabbed another.
