After a few minutes, Xander and Athena walked back to the castle.Renee was yelling at the queen . "How could you.You knew I liked him and yet you let this girl in and she takes him away from me.What about our plan". "What plan".Xander said confused. "Xander its nothing honey".The queen said. He looked over at Renee. "Fine.The plan was to baby trap you after we got married." "WHAT.Why?'' "Xander lower your voice". "No mum.That isn't ok.Tell me why.NOW". "I'm sorry Xander.We planned that because my family lost their throne.My ex when we got married did something behind our backs and stole my kingdom.My family wanted us to still be royals so we thought going back to your family would help.And if we got married, I could baby trap you so couldn't leave me and go off with girls like her.Once again I'm very sorry it was my parent's idea.But I want to be with you.I genuinely do." "Renee,enough I never liked you as more than a friend.I'm sorry for what happened but your plan is not ok.Also there is nothing wrong with girls like Athena.In fact I would rather be with one like her than you.I hope you understand.Now please go before I get the guards." He said.Renee looked over at the queen before walking away. "I'm sorry Athena I wish you the best with him".Once she was out of sight Xander talked with his mom. "Mum.How could you.How you stoop so low to agree with that plan". "I'm deeply sorry Xander,but I was friends with her parents since I was young I couldn't see them struggle.I didn't agree with the plan but I had no choice.Plus I wasn't sure about you and Athena ". Xander didn't know what to say so he walked away. Athena followed him.His mother mouthed she was sorry to her as she walked after Xander.She eventually caught up to him. "Hey.Are you ok.I know that was probably a lot for you". "No I'm fine really.I'll see you later". "Yes of course".But little did she knew her time with him was slowly, possibly coming to an end.He went into his room to look at his arm.The curse was getting to him but no one knew.His veins day by day were becoming black, consuming the curse.He didn't want to seem weak.In actuality, he wanted to enjoy his time with Athena and not worry about the curse.

The next few weeks were interesting in the kingdom.Everyone was preparing for the big ball.Every year the queen throws a big ball on a specific date that was the same every year but no one knew the reason for it.Everyone who is everyone is there except of course the people from Asterin.But this year was an exception with Athena.
