C H A P T E R 39

A few days later Athena and Xander were discharged from the hospital.Everyone in Asterin gathered near the hospital to show their support.Lena went up on a podium and announced both Asterin and Gantrick will be coming together once and for all.There were mixed reactions but for the most part everyone was excited for the change.Vivienne and Roland went home a few days prior and made the announcement to their people.They were excited too.Athena and Xander were proud of their parents for this big decision.They both held hands as they headed back to Gantrick.Athena was happy she was able to have both worlds in her life.Xander as well.

A few days later Athena's family came to Gantrick.Athena and Xander waited by the stairs for their arrival.Nolan was also their waiting for Sabrina.Sabrina came out of the car and went up to Nolan.Nolan was happy but there was a part of him that longed for Athena still.Athena's parents came out of the car next and hugged their daughter and then brought Xander into the hug.Athena's sisters came out of the car last holding both boys.The boys were handed to their parents.They were both happy and giggling as their parents held them.Xander's parents came over to hold their grandchildren.They both laughed as they held the boys.They were given back to their parents. "Sam,Elle,can you take them please."Xander said.Athena was confused.He grabbed her hand and lead her to a special place they found special.The willow tree in the greenhouse where they had their first date. "What is all of this". "Athena,I know we were never official but I love you and I want to spend the rest of our lives together.I hope this isn't going to be a rush of things."He said chuckling.He pulled out a box from his pocket and got down on one knee.Athena put her hands on her face. "Athena,I know we have been through a lot.But what I do know is we came back together through it all.I love you.I never want to stop saying that." He opens the box to reveal a beautiful,gold ring with a round diamond.The ring almost looked like a flower.That ring was a heirloom to the family and now it was going to be hers.Surrounding the diamonds were twists. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you.Athena will you marry me and be my queen." Tears formed in her eyes.  "Yes,of course I will".She crouched down to him and kissed him.He slid the ring on her finger.He picked her up and spun her around.They kissed.Everyone was happy for them.Nolan wasn't as much but he put on a fake smile for everyone.That night there was a ball for their engagement and the announcement of their twins to the people of Gantrick aswell to the people of Asterin.

Before they got married they got used to having kids for a while.Xander had to get used to king duties which meant he couldn't be there for Athena a lot.She figured once they were married she would get used to it although for the next few years she doesn't ever get used to it really.She doesn't let that stop her from marrying him though.
