C H A P T E R 41

 Some Time Later*

After a blissful marriage and caring for four children all seems well between the king and queen of Gantrick and Asterin, except little do people know that isn't really the case. With Alexander being king he is not really with his family as much as he likes.Athena is enjoying motherhood except she feels as if she is doing it all alone.But here we are present day.The kids are a little older and both worlds are living in harmony.Everyone gets to decide whether they want a soulmate mark or not.Most importantly Oryn is defeated or is she?

Athena is walking down the castle hallway in a blue flowy dress with a leg slit and a crown on her head.She finally gets to her and Xander's bedroom.She opens the door to see him leaning back on the bed with his button up shirt unbuttoned.He also had his hands on his face.Athena coughs and he sits up and looks her up and down. "Wow am I lucky."She walks closer to him and then straddles him.They kiss. "What did I tell you about wearing those kinds of dresses.Do you really want another baby that bad." She looks at him annoyed and then got off him. "Wait listen I'm sorry I just had a bad day.But quite honestly looking like that makes the day so much better." She wanted to yell at him but she just laughed instead. The door then opened to reveal a older tired Marie. "I didn't mean to intrude on you two but do you want to spend some time with the kids before I get them ready to leave". "Leave where?" Xander asked confused. "To my mother's I promised them we would visit them". "Why didn't ask me". "I didn't think I should since you don't spend time with them". "Oh really". He said standing up. "Well at least I don't prioritize wearing scandalous outfits instead of looking like a mother". "What since when has how I dress effects how I am as a mother". Before they could break out more into a fight.Aurora runs into the room.She tugs onto Athena's dress.Athena picks her up.Xander didn't mean what he said.The minute he saw how his daughter looked at Athena like it was her whole world he felt terrible. "I'm sorry Athena". She turns slightly to face him while looking at their daughter. "You should be". "I'm sorry if I started the fight".Marie said worried. "No you are fine.Besides Athena was right". As if on clue their youngest son Archie runs into the room holding a dinosaur.Xander caught him and held him in a hug.Charles ran into the room. "There you are.I am so sorry he left my sight." "It's okay". Athena said.The moment felt nice with them holding their youngest children and of course they missed their two eldest.

"What time are they leaving". "I'm not sure but probably around noon." Marie said. "Well then let me spend time with my family".Xander said. Before they left the room Athena pulled on Xander's arm. "I'm going with them". "No you aren't."Xander said. "I am". "No you can't.I can't run a kingdom alone.You promised me you wouldn't leave." "Xander I am not going forever just maybe a week or two.Plus I want to see my family and I want to be with my kids." They put down the kids and they ran off. "I don't want to argue with you Xander". She kissed his cheek and walked down the hallway.At the end was was Everett and Eliot.She gave them a hug.Xander met up with them. "How's my boys been". "Good dad".Everett said. "Charles can you see if I can get off with my duties for maybe a few days". "I don't know sire but I will try". Marie walks worried into the room.She pulls Athena and Xander aside. "Something is happening in Asterin." "What do you mean". Athena said with concern. "Your mother just called.The tree in the town circle there is a wave of flashing color happening." "Okay I'll go." "No I'm going with you". "This is my home". "Yes but you helped me with mine let me help with yours." "Fine but who is going to watch the kids." "I will" Sage said. "Sage your back". Athena said giving her a hug. "I love your dress". "Thank you.Xander you could learn some tips." He looked annoyed. "Hi sis". "Alright lets get ready then".Athena said while grabbing Xander's hand.
