(lost-frank ocean)
Minnie and I were painting each other's nails when Yuqi walked into her apartment around 1 in the morning. She kicked off her leather black boots as she walked to get a glass of water from the fridge.
"Well hello to you too!" Minnie said. "How was your date?"
"Great. I just feel nauseous," Yuqi replied, chugging down the cold water like her life depended on it.
"Drinking?" I asked.
Yuqi wiped her mouth with her sleeve. "Obviously. We had a night at the club."
"How romantic," I said, trying to sound upbeat. Yuqi already seen through my words. She simply ignored me, knowing that she had her love life...or whatever it is that she has with Soyeon in tact.
"Why did you come back here, then?" Minnie asked, blowing her blue nails. "This is single ladies' night."
Yuqi threw off her jacket. "Who said I couldn't enjoy the festivities?"
"We just expected you to not come back," I said.
"Not everyone is always in a rush to peel each other's clothes off, Shuhua. That's what you and Soojin do. Soyeon and I are very different."
"I see." I fanned my nails as I wondered what romance was like without the sexual intentions. I feel like my love life needed to be revamped already. And this was my first shot at it. Honestly, I miss the rush sex had brought. When I tried it with Hongjoong, it felt like nothing. Nothing like how it felt with Soojin. Now those two people feel like faded memories.
I almost forgot what Soojin looked like and I only saw her a couple hours ago. That was a step in the right path of trying to love me before anyone else.
Yuqi sat on the floor with us and inspected the nail colors. "Ooo let me try that yellow."
Minnie shook the bottle and reached for Yuqi's hand. "So, how was your night out?"
"Sweet." Yuqi smiled. "We had chicken and beer. She bought me a car. It was nice."
"She bought you a car?" Minnie and I screamed in unison.
A humble smirk crept across Yuqi's lips. "What can I say? Daddy in the sheets, pampered princess in the streets."
"What magic spell did you put on her to finesse a damn car?" Minnie asked in excitement.
"Seriously," I said.
Yuqi shrugged. "She also offered Shuhua her black card for a shopping spree in Gangnam tomorrow. And a new area to stay over there. It's in UN village. Have you guys heard of it? I heard it's where the rich and famous live quiet lives."
Hannam-dong, UN Village. Where Soojin introduced me to her little place and dogs. The photograph she put down on the nightstand. My heart began to quicken at the thought of the place where love felt like it began. "No, no I haven't. That's pretty luxurious...how could I ever pay her back, though?"
"That's her place." Yuqi wiggled her fingers as Minnie finished adding a second coat. "You don't have to pay her back. She also owns stocks and is a landlord. You're one of her...amicable tenants."
I beamed. "Tell Soyeon I said thank you."
"You can do it yourself. She's coming with us tomorrow."
"So, Shu and I can be third and fourth wheels?" Minnie clucked her tongue. "You guys are considerate."
"We aren't affectionate in public. Soyeon hates PDA anyway." Yuqi crossed her legs. "I know I'm basically drunk, but did you guys drink anything? Any soju in here?"
