IT felt as if yesterday we were all celebrating a beautiful Christmas together and time flew so fast as it's now New Year's eve.

I couldn't wait until the sky darkened so we'd all go watch fireworks downtown as they counted down to midnight - officially beginning the new year. First of January came too fast that I didn't have time to even blink.

Everyone was just relaxing today. Joy wasn't cooking as we'd all be going out to celebrate the new year tonight, Mali went out to shop with her friends that she missed, David got to know Luke better and they really got along so well, and then there's Calum and I never getting enough of each other.

We didn't want to be a clingy couple who're always seen together wherever they go. But Calum and I were a bit different than clingy. We just couldn't avoid each other.

Well we were living in the same house.

But that's not the point, I mean. We'd just sit around and play with each other's hands or fingers, or even just stare into each other's eyes...and we wouldn't be bored.

Those brown irises of Calum's melted me as if I was burning over a bright fire.

They could either light up in happiness, dull due to sadness or pity, or even darken with lust at our chastening times.

Eyes play a big role in loving someone - they never lie. That person's eyes will never get old even if their age increased.

Calum would say that my eyes were really blue, like Luke's. I admired that boy's eyes as they were such crystal-like sapphire.

As of now, Calum and I were just walking in the snow remnants of December, heading to the local neighbourhood Home Department.

Last night, Joy received a call from a man named Mr. Joseph about the Hemmings' old residence. I was a bit shocked to hear any news about it, but I wasn't going to lie about missing the house.

Especially after it being renovated, I was somehow excited to see what it looked like. It could be rebuilt in the same way as it once was before. But who knew? I hadn't been back there since forever.

Time did fly when you're having fun. Well, I think I had the best time of my life being a part of the Hoods for a little while.

"It's so beautiful..." Calum gestured towards the almost-empty roads - as it was still barely noon - covered with snow on the pavement. "I wish December would last forever but new year is always exciting."

He chuckled and I rubbed his knuckles with my thumb as we walked in the cold breeze. It felt so refreshing and soothing in some way I'd never felt before.

The last time I had walked with someone in the snow like this was when Liz still had a heart and not a dark hole. She would bring Luke and I to the beautiful parks while his two brothers went along with their father.

Those were the days that I yearned to relive. But now not anymore. Those became nightmares.

"I guess, new year means new dreams and a new book in our lives. Tomorrow would be the first chapter that'll start it all." I spoke, his caloused hand still tightly holding mine.

He shook his head as we stopped a few feet away from the entrance of our destination, bringing my hand up so he could kiss the back of it.

Even simple gestures like this made the butterflies in my belly go crazy as if a volcano just erupted. Calum made me go crazy.
