THANKING Michael was easy and he seemed to be happy about it. I mean, he was all smiley throughout the whole day at school.
Surprisingly, today, no one even bothered me. They'd just ignore me and walked away in their own directions; not bothering to know what I was doing.
Sometimes I liked being invisible.
It's better than being noticed but hurt in the process. I wanted to be noticed and loved, not hated.
But I got these three new friends in my life and I was more than thankful for everything. Luke seemed happier than ever and that brought a warm tingly feeling to my heart.
Overall, I suspected something bad to happen to me - I had never lived a happy life like this and I swear something might happen.
Nothing bad happened.
But what if it was waiting?
Waiting to strike me like thunder and lightning?
Could I bear the pain God's planning for me to take?
I shook my head, realizing that my negative thoughts were starting to take over me once again. I wouldn't let it get in the way. I was happy now and I hoped nothing could ever change that fact.
"Hey!" a familiar voice called out and I looked up from my books to find Michael at the end of the hallway, "LEXI!"
A grin stretched on my face as he ran towards me and we engulfed in a hug.
I swear we'd hugged so many times today.
"Um, Calum's on his way from his last class. I spot Ash's car in the compound so we'll meet him there. Let's go?"
I nodded, "Oh. Sure!"
He insisted in carrying my homework for me and I thanked him with a smile before we headed for Ashton's vehicle.
Speaking of Calum, my mind started drifting back to last night.
It was so sweet of him to take me out on a date like that. No one - no guy - had ever did such sweet gestures to me the way he did.
I could still feel his hand and fingers entwined in mine.
I could still feel his cold cheek against my quivering lips.
He made me feel special, showing me his secret hideaway while he'd never shown it to anyone else.
"Not even Mali. Nope." he'd said that night while our feet dangled above the water.
Ashton (he was wearing glasses) spotted us walking towards his car and grinned before rolling down the window and starting the engine, "There you are! Where's Calum?"
"He just got out of class." Michael replied whilst we both got into the backseat.
Speaking of the devil...
Calum walked towards us with his hands holding the straps of his backpack, hair unmoved by the wind.
"Hey, guys! 'Sup?" he said as soon as he shut the door of the passenger seat.
"You're late. That's up." Ashton rolled his eyes and pulled out to the main road. "Anyway, you guys don't have any plans, right? I wanna go to the mall. Need to buy some stuff."
"Oh." The word suddenly came out of my mouth.
Michael looked at me worriedly, "What's wrong? Is it the homework?"
