"TAKE him away."
As soon as the words left the man's mouth, Luke was held tightly in Alex's embrace.
"Whoa, wait a second, what do you mean take him away? Who are you and what power do you have to do that?" Michael stepped forward and held his arms out, protecting the two hugging siblings behind him.
"That is none of your business, young man. We are only following orders. And we're demanded to take him away until the house is fully renovated."
His words showed no hint of pity at all and that boiled anger inside me.
The other two men were already taking long strides towards the poor boy while Michael pulled both Alexandra and Luke into his arms, tight.
"Sir, is there any other way? Mrs. Hood had signed papers with the police. They're both staying here until the house is up again." Ashton voiced his opinion.
I was frozen.
I didn't know what to do or how to react at all. All this happened in a matter of seconds and there's too much to be processed by my dumb brain.
"I'm afraid there's nothing else to do. Plus, it's only for a short period."
Okay, that's it.
"A SHORT PERIOD?!" I shocked everyone with my sudden outburst, "Do you know how damaged the house is? It won't take a short period to rebuild all that mess!"
"Calum..." Ashton rubbed my back but I swear I had tears pricking in my eyes.
It was hard to see Alex leave Luke for school. Hell, she couldn't even go out with us to the mall without thinking of bringing the poor boy along!
How could she survive to live a few more months without him?
"I'm sorry, sir, but I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to change the orders."
The previous two men were now pulling Michael and Alex off of Luke.
The boy looked really scared and was full-on sobbing as well as Alex. While Michael... Well, he was full-on yelling.
"NO! YOU CAN'T TAKE HIM AWAY FROM US! NO!" he yelled and yelled, trying to push the two guys away.
But of course, the muscular men managed to pull both of them off of Luke - Ashton ran to hold Michael while I immediately reached for Alex.
She was drowning in tears, choking every now and then.
"Aaahhh!" Luke cried, his face redder than I'd ever seen as his hands reached out towards Alex.
She caught them, and I helped pull Luke away with her.
The scene was total chaos.
"Don't take him!" Alex cried out, slapping the back of the two men who were pulling Luke away like a hostage.
His hands were held to the back like they were cuffed and he was thrashing around to loosen the grip. But he was too weak to do so, and we were all too tearful to even think.
All four of our faces were spoiled with hot tears - none of us bothering to even wipe them away.
We all loved Luke.
No, we still love him.
"LUKE!!!" Alex cried, falling to her knees with me beside her as my arms were wrapped tight around her waist.
They pushed the poor boy into the car - his blonde hair soon disappeared behind the car door along with his muffled cries.
We were left stranded in front of my house: Michael's face in the crook of Ashton's neck as they both cried in each other's arms; Alex knelt on the ground, crying out her brother's name as I held her; Luke crying and tapping his hands on the window, trying to get out of the car; and me.
