Xander POV:
It's been about three days, I'm not entirely sure, everyday they come, chain me up, then torture me, I do what I need to do they don't start to torture Ava. I don't even know if my parents are alive, at this point my only reason for living is so I know they won't hurt my sister. Anastasia comes every night with bandages to patch me up, she doesn't talk about her self much but from what she has said I know she's 16, she has no contact to the outside world, and that Romanov has been torturing her since she was born. I told myself if we ever make it out I'm gonna make sure we take Anastasia with us. My sister thinks I have a crush on Anastasia, which I mean maybe? She's pretty and nice, but dating isn't even on the top of my list of things I should be concerned about right now.It was around the time Anastasia comes down to help us and as always I was waiting, bleeding from my last beating. They don't whip me as much anymore, they tend to use me as a punching bad and use knifes which I guess is a plus.
Soon enough the door unlocked and Anastasia walked in. "Hey." I said as Ava gave me a stupid look.
"How are you doing?"
"Never better."
She sighed and started tending to my cuts, "I learned some information when I was eavesdropping from the guards. You say your parents names are Marcella and Austin da?" She spoke through her Russian accent. Ava and I nodded. "They're alive, they are keeping them in the west dungeon."
Ava's and I's faces lit up. This was the first time we had conformation our parents where alive.
"Anastasia...do you think you could do something for me. Can you tell my parents that Ava and I are alive, Ava's fine, and that we love them. Tell them that we don't blame them and we forgive them for not telling us."
Ana looked at me. "I can try, it's very risky, I'm not even supposed to be walking around, but I will try."
I looked at Anastasia in the eyes and grabbed her hand softly "Thank you." I gave her a meek smile. When she got up to leave I whispered "wait! If you talk to my parents, give them this." Tell them that the noble lion always prevails. I said handing her my family crest ring. She nodded then left, leaving Ava and I alone in the cell once more.
Anastasia POV:
I was sneaking out of the East dungeon, where Xander and Ava are being held, heading towards their parents. It was very risky, since I know if I got caught I would be punished in ways I wish upon no one. In my whole life Xander and Ava are the only people I have had contact to outside the Russian mafia. I grew up locked in a room, but as I grew older and they became assured I wouldn't try to run away I was allowed to wonder the mansion, but I am still not supposed to be down here. If my father catches me I will be as good as dead.I carefully made it past the guards to the west dungeon. I know most guards are off at this time of night so it should be safe for me to go. I unlocked the padlock door and entered to see a man and a woman both in cells talking to each other. The man appeared to have a black eye and was bleeding from the side.
Good thing I brought extra gauze.
They both stopped when they saw me. "Are you Marcella and Austin?" I asked.
They both looked at each other. "Yes now who are you? You don't look like one of Romanovs men." The man responded.
"My name is Anastasia, I am a friend of your children's." They looked shocked.
"Wait they're alive?" The woman sobbed happily.
"Wait Cec how do we know this isn't another trick."
"Your son gave me this and told me to tell you the lion always prevails. Whatever that means." I said pulling out the ring which made them gasp once more.
"That's the ending to the nursery rhymes sung Xander when he was a kid."
"They're actually alive! Cecily they're alive!" Austin sobbed happily.
"are they okay?"
"They are both alive, Ava is fine, no harm has come to her."
"What about Xander?" Austin asked.
I took a breath. It was painful to say this since I kinda have a crush on him and I care about him. "Everyday they torture him, he takes all the blows so they don't hurt Ava." The helpless parents sobbed once more.
"Wait why are you telling us this? To gloat?"
"No no no, like I said I am a friend of Zander and Ava." They looked puzzled. "I am a captive here as well, just more free I am allowed to roam the mansion, well except for here which is why this needs to be a secret. Every night I come down to their cell treat Xander's wounds, which reminds me, here." I said handing Austin the gauze and rubbing alcohol. "Treat your cut."
"You've been helping my baby?" Cecily's voice cracked as I nodded. "Thank you."
"They asked me if I could sneak in here to give you a message; they love you, and they don't blame you for being trapped here and they forgive you for not telling them." Both parents smiled as tears fell from their cheeks.
"Anastasia, you said you're trapped here?" Cecily asked. "Is there a way for you to escape or help us escape?"
"I'm sorry. I wish I could, but I have no contact to the outside world."
"There is one thing. My daughter has a necklace, if you press the stone twice it sends a alert signal to my family, I promise you we can get you out of here, just press the necklace."
"Romanov took the necklace, I don't know where he put it." They're faces dropped. "But I can look for it. But you have to promise me you will get me out of here."
"Deal." Austin said.
I looked at my watch. "I'm sorry I need to go before they catch me. Don't tell anyone I was down here." I said before leaving.
