(A/N: I'm adding a new character, Dylan Reed. He's Austin's best friend and in the gang as well, all you need to really know is he's Austin's best friend since childhood, he's extremely loyal and a great fighter, Cecily knows him and they're good friends. Sorry I didn't think of him before but just use your imagination to see how he would fit into the story thus far.)
Austin POV:
"CECILY DONT CLOSE YOUR EYES! PLEASE PLEASE FIT FOR ME BABY! STAY AWAKE!" I yelled in the backseat of the car. "DYLAN FASTER!" I yelled at my best friend. He had returned from a month long mission a mere twenty minutes before the shooting. As soon as we got to the hospital I grabbed ceci and ran in. "PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! MY WIFE SHES DYING!" A bunch of nurses ran in and loaded her on a stretcher. I tried following but the nurse wouldn't let me go back with her. "No please I need to make sure she's ok!"
"I know sir, but you can't go back there and fighting me won't help your wife." I reluctantly stoped and waited in the waiting room. Soon enough Dylan walked in after parking the car. "How is she?" I shook my head. He gulped "She's gonna be fine dude. Her and the baby." He tried to assure me.
I also called Cecily's family who all ran in. I haven't stopped pacing. "Any word on Marcella Spade?" I frantically asked the nurse.
"No I'm sorry, but sir she was brought in in critical condition, it's going to take a while. I'm sorry." She told me sympathetically.
"AUSTIN!" I turned my head and say Luke running in. "How is she?"
"I don't know." My voice cracked. I had been silently crying. "S-she's in surgery."
"What the hell happened?" Alex fumed running in. All her brothers were showing up, since I texted them in the car.
"Romanov, he sent a man to kidnap her but he ended up stabbing her in the stomach." I Crocked.
"Oh my god the baby!" Luke realized.
"What about the man who stabbed her? Did he get away?" Xavier asked.
"I don't know, I sent some men after him but my focus has been on Cec." They all nodded.
'It must be around four in the morning' I thought to myself. I've been waiting for hours and still no word. I don't even know if she's alive. If my child is alive. Cecily's brothers needed to go home to their families, but I promised I would update them. Dylan was still with me in the waiting room, fast asleep.
Me, I was awake. I couldn't sleep. How could I, how could I sleep not knowing if my wife or child were going to be okay. Around 2 am, my men texted me saying they found the man who stabbed cec, however he took the cowards way out and shot himself before we could catch him.
That son of a bitch.
My eyes were puffy, I had been crying a lot. I remember how in my youth I would never cry.
"Marcella Spade?" A doctor announced. I immediately stood up.
"That's my wife! How is she?" I asked frantically.
"She sustained major trauma to her lower abdomen, the blade pierced her placenta..."
I cut hun off. "What does that mean? Is she okay? What about the baby?"
The doctor sighed.
Oh no. Please tell me she's not dead. Please be ok.
"Your wife is fine." Thank god. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "We managed to stitch the placenta back together." I was about to interrupt and ask again before the doctor answered my question. "Yes, the baby is fine."
I felt a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulder. "However," oh no. That's never good. "Since there was trauma to the area, this causes your son to be at risk birth, meaning your wife needs to undergo certain treatments before the delivery."
I nodded. what what? "You said son?"
The doctor looked at me weird. "Yes your son, oh I'm sorry where you hoping the gender would be a surprise?"
Oh my god. I'm having a son. I've always wanted a son.
The truth was Cecily and I hadn't gone to the appointment to find out the gender yet, in fact our appointment for that was in three days. "Can I see her?" Was all I managed to say.
"Of course, she's still sleeping, but I can escort you to her room as long as you don't make a effort to wake her up. Let her rest."
"Of course." I turned to Dylan who was still asleep. "Dylan wake up, Cec is out of surgery, her and my son are okay." My son, it's feels so weird to say but I have much pride in saying it.
"Thank god. Do you want me to notify Cecily's family." I nodded at his question.
We followed the doctor to Cecily's room and he opened the door, which revealed a pail, barely life like version of my wife. She must have been fighting so hard.
"I'll wait out here, standing guard." Dylan said. I nodded walking in.
She wasn't moving, aside from her chest faintly rising and falling with her breathing. I went over and pulled a chair next to the bed and I grabbed her limp hand and held it.
"I'm so sorry honey." I sobbed. "I made a promise to protect you and our son." I smiled. "Ya the doctor said we're having a son. To be honest I've always wanted a son. I've already started coming up with names. But that's beside the point, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, I failed you. I'll never forgive myself." I sniffled. "God I'm so sorry." I pressed my face to her hand, tears streaming down my face.
"Austin?" A faint voice said. I looked down and saw her eyes open. "You didn't fail me." Her hand moved up to my face and touched my cheek. "So we're having a son?" She smiled.
I sniffled and smiled. "Ya, ya baby we are."
We sat there smiling until the door opened and Cecily's family walked in.
