Cecily POV:
We were in the office and my father was opening the package that just arrived. When he did this terrible smell came out of the box. I honestly thought I was going to puke. I peered into the box and all I could do was scream. In the box was a head. Not just any head. My mother's head.
I screamed and buried my head in Austin's shoulder.
"What is it?" Austin asked.
"Mom." Kade's voice cracked.
Austin moved and let me bury my head in his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me. I couldn't believe what I just saw. All I could think about was my mother's head in a box. She's dead. No that can't be right. As much as I hated the woman for leaving and trying to take Alex away, she was still my mom.
"JEFFERSON!" My father yelled. Jefferson cane running into the room. "FIND WHO SENT THIS IMMEDIATELY!"
"Yes don."
Xavier POV:
I couldn't believe it. My mother was dead. As much of a bitch that woman was, she didn't deserve this. Before Jefferson could leave the room, the TV in the office suddenly turned on.
"I think you already know, don't you Lorenzo." I faced the TV to see Ivan Petrov. How the hell did this man hack into our system. "I see you got the gift I sent you." He smirked.
"You bastard." Alex gritted his teeth. I looked over to Cecily who was still buried in Austin's arms.
"Marcella, great to finally talk to you, don't worry we will he meeting face to face in no time." Ivan's words made me angrier by the second.
"OVER MY DEAD BODY!" Luke shouted.
"That can be arranged." Ivan replied with a sinister smirk. As much as I hate to admit it, Ivan scared me; if he got to our mother, he could get to my baby sister. No Xavier, don't think about that. You'll protect her, like you always have. I told myself.
"Oh how rude of me. Marcella, my name is Ivan Petrov—" at this moment my anger got the best of me and I pulled out my gun and shot the TV, making it end the 'call' with Ivan.
I immediately regretted it, when I heard Ceci scream again. God my poor sister was terrified. Of course I've seen shit like this, but she's so young, so innocent. I walked over to her and gave a look to Austin to let her go.
As he did, I took her into my arms and held her tight. I whispered sweet nothings in her ear, like I did to her when she was a baby, when she got scared by the fireworks or a nightmare.
We were all silent in shock. At one point, Austin and his father left the room to give us privacy during this family crisis. We all huddled together in a group hug, I knew I had to be strong for my siblings, but I was petrified, for I knew what this was.
It was Ivan's declaration of a all out mafia war.
