Chapter 29 - Bomb

Austin POV:
We were walking out the door, we were leaving to go home. I know, sad, but our honeymoon must end sometime. We made our way to the car and started driving to the private airfield to get on the jet. Our driver was driving, and Cecily and I were in the backseat of the SUV. I was on my phone, checking on our planes status, while Cecily was looking out the window.

I moved my hand to hold hers and she turned to me. "Ready to go home?" I asked.

"Ya, I just wish we could stay here forever." I smiled.

"Well my love, we can return whenever you want." I told her, causing a smile to form on her face. Her face started to give a confused look.

"What's wrong?" I asked concerned.

"That sound..." before she could finish I listened in. I know that should.

Ticking. Explosive.

"STOP THE CAR!" I yelled to the driver who slammed on the breaks. "ITS A BOMB! EVERYONE OUT NOW!" I yanked the car door open and got out of the car. I looked back at Cecily and saw her struggling.

"AUSTIN IM STUCK! THE SEATBELT!" I quickly rushed to her side of the car and opened the door. I grabbed my knife as fast as I could and cut the seatbelt off. The ticking was getting faster and louder.

Once the seatbelt was cut, I quickly grabbed Cecily out of the car, picking her up in my arms bridal style and ran from the car.

I made it about fifteen feet before a load boom knocked me to the ground, and my vision when black.

When I came to, my ears were ringing and I was on top of Cecily, who was regaining consciousness. I looked and saw the SUV on fire, with parts of the car all around us.

I quickly looked down at Cec. "ARE YOU OKAY?" I frantically looked over to her for injury, as I got off of her.

My side hurts like a bitch.

"I'm fine." She responded shaky. One of our other security SUV's pulled up to the scene.

"Sir! Are you okay?" I turned to them, moving my back towards Cecily.

"A-A-Austin" I turned and she pointed at me. "Your back." I looked down at the side of my body and saw blood.

Shrapnel.

"It's okay Cecily. It's not that big, Harrison can remove it. HARRISON!" I called him over. He was one of the men certified in non life threatening injuries.

He hurried over and looked at it. "It's not that deep, you won't even need stitches." I nodded and re-assured Cecily.

"Sir! We should get you to the jet, it's not safe here. I'll call for the men to sweep the jet for other explosives." Another one of my men told me.

"Thank you." We got in the other SUV and drove to the airfield. Once it was deemed safe we boarded and quickly left the island.

As soon as we landed I knew we had to meet with Xavier, as he was the new don, but I knew the rest of Cecily's family would want to be there too so I called them as well.

We arrived at the headquarters to met Xavier in his office. When we entered all Cecily's brothers were there, as well as her and my father, and Aidan. They all gave us hugs saying the usual "thank god you're alright."

"What happened?" Ceci's dad asked.

"We don't know, we were driving to the airfield when we heard ticking, and then boom." I responded.

"Any idea who did it?" Kade asked.

I shook my head. Right after that I heard my phone ring. I checked the caller ID and it said 'UNKNOWN'.

Reluctantly I answered. "Hello?"

"I see you got my wedding present." I froze.

"Who is this?" I turned the phone on speaker.

"Oh right, how rude of me. The names Eli Romanov." All of us looked at each other. "It's good to finally chat."

"Well Eli do you mind telling me why the fuck your just tried to kill my wife and I."

"Well you see Austin, I have to eliminate the competition. However it seems my men have failed. If you catch them, feel free to kill them for their failure."

"Competition? What are you talking about? Your telling me some petty low level gang tried to attack me. That's idiotic, The Spades are one of the biggest gangs in the world, you'll die trying to take us down."

The man laughed. "Austin, I'm no petty gang. In fact I believe you know my late employer. Ivan Petrov. You see I took over after you killed him."

"You're the new head of the Russian Mafia?"

"Bingo. Now it took a while to gather all our men after the fall of Ivan's lead, but were back. Watch your back Austin. And watch that pretty wife of yours, I might just snatch her from you."

"You son of a—" I couldn't finish before he cut me off.

"Oh and watch your backs too Mariano's and Spades'...Thats right I know your listening. Anyways great chat but I have to punish my men for their failure."

"Your a dead man—" the phone went dead.

"What the hell." Alex mumbled.

"There's a new threat. He's coming for all of us, we need to be prepared." Xavier spoke. "Luke, I'll send for extra guards for you and Claire. Keep your kids safe."

"You know I will." Luke replied.

"Kade, Alex, I'll send u some new weapons and some of my best men. Stay safe."

"The vipers will have a increase in security for Liam and I." Aidan announced.

"Okay, I'll send you a few men as well to keep you in the loop." Xavier replied.

"Austin have my men contact yours to form a security team for you any Cecily." I nodded. "I'll send them the blueprints for the..." he stopped his sentence when I gave him a look. He remembered that it was a surprise so he said "for the Blades headquarters." I nodded. "Okay, everyone stay safe. I'll get to working on those extra security personnel."

We all nodded and left, I know Cecily had had a long day, but I still had a surprise for her. Hopefully it would make the day we had a little better.
