It was the 23rd expedition outside the walls. But it was only our first time.

We rode on horses out of the walls into the open

It was incredible! So much color! The sunshine, birds, grass, everywhere! Color.

"Titan spotted!" The leader yells

I'm pulled out of my imagination and into the moment.

Right ahead of us the monster runs straight for us

"15 meter!"

"That's a Titan?" Farlan asks just as surprised as the rest of us

"3 ten meter titans behind us!!"

We turn to see more running at us

"Prepare for combat"

While Farlan and Isabel look around terrified. I don't feel the chilling sensation. It's that feeling I had when I first flew with odm gear so long ago, the awakening.
I looked to my brother to see he was as calm as I was. It was like we were made for this.

I watched as flares were deployed- men jumping off their horses

We watch as a man slashes down a Titan after his comrade was eaten

"Those 3 are closing in" I tell levi

"Let's go" Levi swiftly turns his horse around so do I

"You'll get yourselves killed!" Flagon yells at us

I turn to see Isabel and Farlan following us to the titans

Levi and I leap off our horses each going for a Titan.
Simple kills.
Isabel and Farlan manage their Titan as well.

"look at that Levi!" Farlan cheers

"Y/n we did it!!" Isa exclaims

"Yeah...You did well" Levi nods to his friends

"Impressive" I smile

"Ah yes. Very impressive. But you used too much gas. You need to be conservative out here" Erwin rides over lecturing us

"Hey-
Farlan starts but Levi puts his hand up to back Farlan down

" you're expecting me to take priority of my equipment over the lives of my friends?" Levi asks the blonde

"You're performing a lot of unnecessary movements. Are you having doubts? If you are, that'll be the death of you all very soon" Erwin shrugs before riding off

"Damn him!" Isabel says sternly

"Smart mouth" I mutter

I can tell by Levi's breathing he was startled by what Erwin had said

"Come on Levi" I sigh

The rain starts to come down hard as we ride creating a thick fog.
It's hard to see

"I didn't know the fog would be so heavy" Isabel complains

"We can't see a thing!" Farlan agrees

"I can still see your ugly haircut" I tease Farlan who glares back at me while Isabel laughs

"This is our chance" Levi says quietly but we all hear him

"We can use the rain as cover" I agree with my brother thinking logically

"Levi.." Farlan says as a warning

"Are you guys sure??" Isa looks at me worried

"Yes. But all of us breaking formation is suspicious" Levi says
