I can't help myself. It's been a few months, and I keep going to see Zane during the day when Cleo is hanging out with Rikki, Emma, and Bella. He's too irresistible.
I try to break it off all the time for the sake of my marriage, as I've got a baby on the way, but those big brown eyes can hold no man back. I am weak against his power. I try not to discuss the status of my marriage when I'm with him or our old dynamic, as we become completely enthralled by other things when we're together.
Zane and Cleo are both busy today, so I decide to take a walk by all of the local shops. As I'm making my way down the line, I spot a jewelry store that looks very similar to the one I was at when I was shopping for Cleo's ring.
It almost makes me feel sick to my stomach to see all the wedding rings on display, but it feels good in a way. I feel like I can maybe start to confront what I've been doing for the past few months.
I'm looking at the glass cases containing sparkling diamonds and emerald pearls when I am greeted by someone behind me.
"Funny I should see you here," I turn around to see Rikki standing there, "This is almost like when we were shopping for Cleo's ring together back in the states before the wedding."
The memories flood back. Her wide toothed smile, the way she perked up when she saw a ring she liked, and how good she was at hiding the special day we spent together when Cleo saw us.
It was the perfect cover, buying a ring, but it ended up working out really well. I've been spending so much time with Zane recently, I haven't even had time to process our little excursion Rikki and I had in America.
"Oh, hey Rikki," I say rather cautiously. The top she was wearing was dangerous. Rikki can rock a tank top like nobody else, and she knows it.
I guess she catches me taking a peek, because she says, "Oy! That part of our lives is over, it was a one time deal, remember?"
"I know," I say with a slight chuckle, "My bad." Rikki's face softens and I see her look me over. "Yoo-hoo," I say, "That part of our lives is over, it was a one time deal remember?"
She smirks. I know I shouldn't be flirting with Rikki, especially after I cheated on Cleo, but I'm no longer in control of myself it seems. Rikki grabs my collar, and pulls me into a janitor's closet.
"You know what, forget it. I recant my previous statement."
When I think I'm already being a disloyal scumbag, I'm here with Rikki, cheating on Cleo once again, and now on Zane too, who happens to be Rikki's boyfriend.
If I thought things were out of control before, I don't even know what to say about what's happening now.
