Chapter Twenty-One

15 hours and 30 minutes later (11:30pm)

Third POV

Mal gripped onto her husband as Fairy Godmother, the Enchantress in person and Ben's parents talked in the moonlit courtyard.

They stood in the throne room, their friends talking in the throne room, everyone worried.

"Ben" Mal whispered "What if it doesn't work"

"It will, relax my love" Ben whispered "Do you want to do something to keep your mind off of it?"

She nodded, putting her head on his shoulder.

"What about baby names?" Ben asked after a moment of silence. 

"For if it's a boy or girl?" Mal asked, making Ben nod.

"Since we don't know the gender and the baby is meant to come any day now, I want to at least know what our child would be named before I-"

"Please don't say that" Mal pleaded, making Ben hum.

"What about naming the baby after Evie if it's birth gender a female?" Ben asked, making Mal smile.

"I'm sure she would love that" Mal stated "But I don't want to have that has her first name, it would remind me of Evie too much"

Ben nodded.

"Maybe Briana?" Ben asked "It means 'bravery'"

Mal nodded, smiling.

"I love it" Mal asked.

"Now for the brith gender of a boy" Ben stated "Any ideas?"

"I have always liked the name Finn" Mal stated "Or Clay"

"I love them" Ben said, "I really do"

"I'm glad" Mal said softly.

The silence was deadly between them.

"Please don't go" Mal whispered "We can just deal with this, I don't want you to leave me"

"Mal-"

"Please?" Mal pleaded, making Ben sigh.

Ben knew he was going to regret this, but he smiled and nodded.

"Thank you!" Mal exclaimed, hugging Ben.

"Why don't you tell the others?" Ben asked, making Mal let go of him.

She nodded and ran off to the large group, completely distracted as Ben slipped out the room.

"I'm sorry" he whispered "But I have no choice"

Ben rushed down to the courtyard, the older adults turning to look at Ben.

"We almost thought you wouldn't make it" The Enchantress stated "And where is your wife"

Ben sighed and looked down.

"It's better she didn't see this" Ben stated sadly.

The Enchantress and Fairy Godmother nodded.

"Would you please leave?" Fairy Godmother said to Ben's parents "The power with be overwhelming for a normal human"

The parents looked at each other and nodded, both of them giving Ben a hug before leaving into the shadows.

In the courtyard a strange symbol as on the ground, marked out with salt. Candles were surrounding the circle symbol with herbs placed at random around it.
