Chapter Fourteen

~~A/N so...I'm back I guess? Updates might not go back to it's weekly updates, just because I have multiple books at the same time and my work get super busy around Christmas. ~Couple of hours later (5am)~

Ben's POV

I rolled over, not being able to get any sleep.

The adrenaline is keeping me awake.

I heard a knock on the door, making me immediately sit up.

"My King and Queen?" A guard softly said "There has been noise that cannot wait until the daylight"

"Come in" I said as my wife rolled over next to me.

I lent to the bedside table and turned on the lamp, making Mal groan.

"Wake up sweetheart" I said as the guard walked in, clearly awkward about the situation.

"I am deeply sorry to wake you up-"

"It is alright, I am not a morning person" Mal said, her voice hoarse from waking up "What was so urgent?"

She sat up as the guard looked nervously at the two of us.

"The guards found more bodies last night" the guard said.

"Bodies?" I asked, sounding concerned.

Well, they found them quicker than normal.

'Well that's because you forgot to clean up after yourself' the voice commented 'You were too busy thinking that you killed-'

"The person killed Captain Hook?!" Mal exclaimed, her eyes widening with shook.

"Did I just hear that right?" I asked "I thought we increased security"

"It was during the 10 minute turn over" the guard stated.

Mal looked at me, making me look at her.

"But only us and the council knew the new shifts for the guards" Mal said, sounding worried "Do you think there is a spy?...or is the killer among us?"

I hugged her, which her tense shoulders relaxed.

"Stressing is bad for the baby" I whispered. 

I looked back at the guard.

"Call an emergency meeting for 7am sharp" I said "Provide transport for the members of council from the other kingdoms ASAP, and immediately let Fairy Godmother know the situation...we need to catch this killer and fast"

The guard nodded and then bowed.

"Of course King Ben, I will do that now" he said and rushed out the room, closing the door quietly as he left.

"Ben, I-"

"Shhh" I said, hugging her tighter, "We will find this villain and give justice for Captain Hook"

"I'm just worried for Harry" she said "He only just got a good relationship with his father, as well as his siblings"

I sighed.

"I know....I know" I said, kissing her head.

I heard her start to cry, which made my heart throb.
