Ben's POV

"Ben, wake up!"

I groggily woke up to see Mal staring at me, looking mad.

I noticed the sun is up in the sky, the streets below busy.

I noticed how Mal seemed to glow; her lilac dress, her purple hair in a braided bun with her crown neatly in her hair.

"Hey babe, looking nice" I said, smiling.

"Don't 'hey babe' me" she said, cross "You really want to give me a heart attack, I woke up and you weren't next to me once again and asleep on the chair outside"

I sighed, guilty about making her feel this way.

"Sorry Mal, I just got lost in thought outside-"

"You were thinking about that dream you had, didn't you?" Mal demanded.

I looked into her eyes.

"Ben, talk to me" she said softly "We don't keep secrets...remember?"

I took a deep breath, motioning her to sit on my lap.

She blushed for a second, before agreeing, light as a feather on my lap.

"What Fairy Godmother said must have stuck with me into my dream" I lied "I saw you getting hurt because of me a-and...I can't help to think I am a danger to you"

Mal chuckled, kissing my forehead.

"Honey, if it was anything, I would be the danger" Mal said "I know what Fairy Godmother said startled you, it startled me too. However we can't think about it until it becomes apparent"

I smiled.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I asked, making her give me a quick smile.

"Haha" she said sarcastically as she got off of me "Now, you're very late for meetings today so you better hurry up"

"Yes, my queen" I said as I stood up, mockingly bowing to her.

She giggled as I came back up, giving her a lopsided grin.

"Come on your dork" she said, nudging me as we both walked back into our room.

~6 hours later~

The day has been different...

I don't know how to describe it.

Something felt off inside me...

...something dark.

Every time I close my eyes I see that image of myself, beckoning me to join him.

It's driving me mad.

I blink multiple times, which seemed to annoy Mal as we did our duties as a royal couple

Mal was suspicious at first, but now she's ignoring it.

I am currently in Mal and I's study alone, Mal having afternoon tea with my parents.

I would join her but due to Evie being so busy with her saloon she hasn't had time as a royal supervisor-in-training to do the paper work which has piled on my desk.

I drummed my quill on the table, bored out my mind.

The silence in the room is leaving my mind to wonder.

"Now we have some time alone~"

I looked around, alarmed but the voice, only to realise that there was no one in the room.
