Chapter Ten

~The Next Day~

Ben's POV

"Ben? Are you okay?"

I looked at Mal, snapping out of my thoughts.

"Yes, I am" I said, fake smiling "I just got lost in thought, would you be able to repeat that?"

She sighed annoyed, but a small smile.

"The negative of opening the barrier is showing through" Mal exclaimed "Some less powerful villains and thugs have decided to stir some trouble in Auradon"

"Are there guards there?" I asked.

"Yes there is your majesty" Fairy Godmother said, making me look across the council table where each representative of each kingdom sat.

"Is it the same for the other kingdoms?" I asked.

"Yes your majesty" they all expressed, making me sigh.

"We always knew this was going to happen son" my father said, making me turn to the spot next to me.

I sighed.

"I know" I replied "What is the damage they are doing?"

"Some are stealing" Cinderella expressed.

"In my kingdom they vandalise" Aurora said very dramatically while yawning "It is terrible"

"Mother" Audrey said softer.

I smiled at Audrey and nodded, who nodded back.

Children of the representatives came into this council session so they know what to do when the time comes. 

So Audrey, Jane, Lonnie and Doug are here. 

"I think guards will need to protect at night" I said "We need to analyse what places they are aiming for, find their hideouts and capture them. And if they're young kids bring them to Auradon Prep" 

"We just need to be careful with that" Mal said, making me turn to her "Different kids might have different reasons for doing the things they do"

I nodded.

"I will make sure the guards will take care of it fairly, wether they be from the Isle or Auradon; kids are kids" I expressed "We are all equal here"

'Good speech' my voice aka my demon said, making me almost roll my eyes.

Everyone looked at me and smiled, some like Aurora skeptical.

"But they-"

"Mother" Audrey said in a dangerous tone "They are still humans, they are equal and that's final"

"One has caused a death of-"

"You know we don't have evidence-"

"Care to explain?" I asked, cutting off Prince Philip, Aurora's husband.

He looked at me worried.

"We had a person in one of our smaller villagers murdered mysteriously" Prince Philip explained, making some people gasp "And we have a thug circling that area"

"So there could be a chance that the thug might have murdered the villager?" Mal asked, both of us looking at each other concerned.

'Well, that doesn't sound good' the voice commented 'I wonder if there's a why to bring revenge for the villager's death, since it is under your rule'
