Later that day

Ben's POV

We just had Evie's funeral, which everyone morned. I felt so sorry for Doug, he looked numb. Even her mother was here, in a sobbing mess with a handkerchief in her hand. Auradon knew the impact she had on the community, it will never be the same again.

I couldn't help at the funeral, even as I spoke people having eyes on me. I noticed my parent's most trusted guards were at the funeral, not my normal ones. All of them watching me proving my theory of them finding out. They're waiting to see what I would do.

I held Mal's hand as we walked away from her grave, apart from Doug and Evie's mother we were the only ones left. Mal was leaning on my shoulder, crying softly into it.

"I know sweetheart, I know" I whispered, my own tears falling down my face "Let's hop into the carriage and go home"

She sniffed and nodded as we hoped into our blue and purple carriage we rarely used, but mal insisted today as it was Evie's favourite.

I sat next to Mal as she struggled to get in with her pregnant belly, leaning on my shoulder.

"Please, let's go" I said softly, the driver nodding.

We drove in silence, no music playing, no sound from us; just the noise of the horses trotting.

"Ben" Mal whispered hoarsely.

"Yes Mal?" I asked, holding her hand and rubbing it.

"If we have a girl, can we name it Evie?" Mal asked.

I smiled.

"Oh course" I whispered, kissing her forehead "I'm sure Evie would have loved that"

Mal sighed, satisfied with her answer.

I notice her fall asleep immediately on my shoulder, making me smile.

'If you had killed Maleficent this would never had happen~' the voice sung making me groan out loud.

You have been silent this whole time, now stay silent.

'Why? It's fun recking your mental health as well as your life' the voice said.

Can you please stop? I know what you want and I'm out.

'Oh, you're out?' the voice said darkly 'Oh Benny Boo, you can't get out of this one'

If I tell Fairy Godmother-

'She can't help you; she tried before when you were younger remember?' the voice said 'Face it; I have won and you must succumb to me'

I refuse to stop fighting for my kingdom and my family.

'You have already killed so many people...what difference by killing more? You're still a murder' the voice said.

"Stop it" I hissed softly out loud.

"Are you alright my king?" the driver asked.

"There was a fly annoying me, nothing to worry about" I lied, the driver nodding.

'You have some nerve talking back to me' the voice said 'What happened to when you were my loyal servant?'

"I woke up" I whispered as I saw the castle coming into view.

A few moments later we stopped, the horses stopping suddenly.

This seemed to wake up Mal who was asleep on my shoulder.
