December 1983

"You picking up Will." I laugh as I arrive at the Wheelers at the same time as Jonathan.

"You picking up Dustin?" He asks as we both walk up to the house and get let in.

"Jeez, what's that smell?" I laugh as I walk down the stairs with Jonathan.

"Have you guys been playing games all day or just farting?" Jonathan makes them laugh.

"Oh, that's just Dustin. He farted. Dustin farted." Lucas sings, making fart sounds with his mouth.

"Very mature, Lucas. Shut up." They start to play fighting as Will and Jonathan leave.

I laugh watching them play fight for a while, "Okay, okay. Times up, let's head home. Lucas, you wanna ride home?" I ask him.

"Sure, I'll take a ride." They grab their things while I walk over to Mike.

"Hey, it will be okay." I rub his back see him look at where El stayed.

"Thank you, Sky." He gives me a sad smile.

"We're ready." Dustin says before he and Lucas tell Mike goodbye.

"Have a good night and Merry Christmas, Skylar." Karen smiles as we come up.

"Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too." I return the smile.

"Make it home safe Sky." Nancy says, making me look into the room

"Thanks, hopefully, these two don't make me run us off the road." I joke.

"SHOTGUN!" The boys' race to the car.

"Merry Christmas." She smiles at me.

"Did you give Jonathan his gift?" I ask, and she nods her head cuddling Steve more. "He'll love it when he opens it. I gotta go, bye. Merry Christmas." I leave going to my car and make sure they put their bikes in the back right. "Did you guys win tonight?" I ask as I drive Lucas home.

"Yeah," Dustin says.

"But the campaign was way too short," Lucas adds.

"Wasn't it ten hours?" I laugh.

"Yeah, but the end of it didn't make any sense. Mike didn't include the lost knight." Dustin starts.

"And the proud princess along the weird flowers in the cave, like Will brought up." Lucas adds.

"I heard through the door right before Jonathan and I came down. That really does suck but at least better than the last campaign." I say as I pull up to Lucas's house.

"Thanks for the ride, Sky. Bye Dustin, bye Sky." Lucas gets out, getting his bike, then I drive Dustin and me home.

"Has Steve apologize yet for being an asshole to you?" Dustin looks over at me.

"No, and we don't talk to each other so I don't expect one. Him just leaving me alone if good enough." I explain to him.

"He can't apologize to you but does to Nancy? What he's done to you was way worse than what he did to her." I sigh as Dustin gets pissed.

"Just forget about it, please. It's not worth it."

He laughs, "You're joking, right? All the times you've come home and cried in your room because of him and his friends. You play it off like it doesn't hurt or affect you but it did. I can see right through you Sky. You're my big sister, my number one, I know you more than you know yourself." He gives me a whole speech.

"You're right! What more do you want, Dustin? For me to actually say it?" I ask as I park in my spot.

"Yes." He turns to face me. "I put on an act. Sometimes it does hurt what is said to me. I do cry because I feel like a piece of shit. Dustin, I just want to forget about it and move on." I turn off the car getting out and he grabs my hand.
