July 19th, 1985

It's been two weeks since the battle at the mall and everyone has moved on because that's what we have to do. It's just for me I still have certain nights where I would see Billy dying again. I felt like I was 50% back to normal but 50% of me was faking that I was okay. Today Steve was coming over to pick Dustin and me so we could go hang out at his house for the weekend. His parents were going on a small vacation so we were going to go stay with him for a few days.

"You all packed and ready to go?" Steve walks into my doorway leaning on the doorframe.

"Sorta, waiting for something in the dryer. It's almost done." I smile from my bed fixing my bag.

"Dustin is excited to have a pool all to himself for the next few days without having to pay. I just hope he doesn't invite the whole party." I laugh.

"He probably will." Steve nods his head.

"I guess it won't be that bad. The kids all together and we can hang out." He looks over at him and he gives me small smile.

"Sky, the dryer." My mom calls out and I go get Dustin's and mine swimsuits.

As we walk into his place his mom gives me a hello hug which I return. "I feel like you love Sky more than me." Steve tells his mother.

"I do at times." She jokes smiling at him which makes his jaw drop. "I'm joking but can you blame me? I want a daughter at times."

"When do you guys leave?" I ask her.

"Waiting for him to bring his bags out to the car." She says as her husband comes down the stairs.

"Don't mess up the house. I trust Skylar more." Mr. Harrington says walking out of the house.

"Thanks, dad." Steve waves goodbye to him.

"Be safe and have fun." His mom tells us as she heads out.

"Back at you Mama Harrington." I say making her get a big smile.

"Still buttering her up." Steve pushes me as his mom shuts the door behind her.

"She loves me more than you." I laugh as Dustin goes to put his stuff in Steve's room.

"I hate you." Steve walks to the living room.

"That a lie." I follow him taking a seat on the couch next to him.

He turns his head to look at me before pulling me closer to his side. "It's true but you have your moments, Henderson." He pinched my cheek.

"Back at you, Harrington." I smile looking into his eyes. I feel the both of us leaning in but pull back as the front door opens followed by kids' voices.

"Dustin invited us over to swim." Max says looking over at us as the rest join her.

"Told you he would. Just thought he would wait a day." I say as Dustin comes back down.

"I know you guys won't mind." Dustin says and they all rush to the backyard.

"We might as well invite the others who are our age." Steve gets up going over to the phone while I head out back to watch the younger ones.

"You two were going to kiss." Max rushes up to me in a whisper.

"Yes, but you had to open the door." I mess up her hair.

"Would that have been kiss number two?" She makes a kissy face.

"Wait, did Dustin tell you about the first one? Stop keeping track of my kisses. Go kiss your boyfriend." I spin her around pushing her away.
