Chapter 20
I awoke the next morning to loud talking in the dorm room. Then I remembered- it was Christmas! Hurriedly, I opened my closet looked for the presents. They were gone! I gasped and decided to look for them. I couldn’t find them. Sighing, I ran a brush through my hair and tied it into a low ponytail.
Excitedly, I ran out the door and gasped.
The door had been transformed into a Christmas Wonderland! There were red, green and white party lights around the room, and in the middle, beside the sofa was a huge Christmas tree with candy and chocolate hanging from it, with silver tinsel round it. Under it were loads of presents. I squealed and clapped my hands like a little girl.
I twirled round on the spot and grinned wider than ever. On the sofa, Joe, Mike, Shawn, Brian, Cody and Fiona were sitting, eating chocolate chip waffles. I said good morning and merry Christmas to all of them, and gave Fiona a hug. I noticed my presents under the tree. Mike saw me looking.
“Don’t be mad! I didn’t peek, I swear!” he held his hands up, like he was surrendering. I laughed and grabbed a waffle.
“Shall we open them, then? Get your presents and we’ll start opening in a minute.”
We divided up the presents, and I had one from everyone except Joe. I scribbled out Aiden’s name on the card, and wrote Cody instead.
Shawn went first. He got clothes and my gaming controller. He kissed me on the cheek, and kissed Fiona on the lips.
Brian went next. He got some posters, CD’s and my t-shirt.
Michael went after. He was overly happy with his presents, and hugged me until I couldn’t breathe.
Fiona opened her presents next. She shrieked when she saw my presents, and hugged me harder than Michael had. Shawn had given her a locket necklace in the shape of a heart, and if you opened it, you saw a picture of Shawn and her.
Cody opened his presents after her. It turned out he loved The Wanted. He got none from Joe.
Joe opened his presents. He got none from Cody. He got a Green Day mouse mat from Mike, guitar picks from Brian, skull Converses from Shawn and a photo frame…with a photo in it from Fiona. It was a picture of our band, (with Cody, not Aiden), in a group hug. I was in the middle, in between Cody and Joe. We were all grinning, and it was a beautiful picture. I wonder where Fiona had gotten it.
When he opened my present, his eyes widened and he grinned. He reached over and kissed me on the cheek while hugging me, thanking me over and over. He ran off to sync the iPhone to his laptop.
I waited until he’d returned to open my presents. Brian had given me a Taylor Swift karaoke game on Wii, with her lyrics to different songs on it. Shawn had given me an awesome red phone, with already downloaded T-Swift backgrounds, songs and phone covers. Cody had given me a purple shirt with T.S lyrics on it and trendy jeans. Fiona gave me a white and purple plaid shirt and a pair of purple stud earrings. I gave everyone a hug and a kiss on the cheek except Joe.
Everyone agreed to get ready and meet back in the dorm room in half an hour or less. Fiona followed me back into my room. I slipped on the cool jeans Cody had given me, and the shirt and wristband Fiona had given me, as well as some grey flats and the earrings. Fiona wore the t-shirt and hoodie I’d given her, and fashionable jeans, with the locket from her boyfriend and heart earrings. I brushed my hair into a high ponytail and left me fringe out. Fiona simply brushed it out and let it hide her face.
I frowned and pulled her back. When I let go, she sat on the dressing table stool with a thump.
“What?” she whined childishly. She pouted as I grinned and picked up my hairbrush. “Oh, come on. My hair is fine!”
