Chapter 15
(Taylor’s POV)
“Joe, what are you doing here?” I shrieked furiously.
He is such a stalker! Why did he come here? Argh, he just had to ruin my perfect day, didn’t he? He looked embarrassed but annoyed too. I shook my head as Cody and he exchanged vicious glares.
“Taylor, what is your boyfriend doing here?” asked Cody, annoyance lining his voice. I flinched at the ‘b’ work, but threw Joe a meaningful look. He glanced at me, enough to catch it.
“That’s what I don’t know. Joe, care to explain?” I hissed.
He turned to me with a fierce expression on his face, which softened when I cringed slightly. I shook my head and scowled at him.
“You don’t know Cody. He’ll-…”
“Shut it, Parker.” Interrupted Cody, his eyes dangerously flickering between Joe and me.
I put a hand on both of their arms. Both of them relaxed a little under my touch, and I pulled them up to go outside. So much for a great night- I didn’t even get to eat anything. They followed me out to Cody’s car. I saw Joe’s car a little behind it, and sighed. It was so beautiful, and outshone all the cars in the parking lot put together.
Joe caught me staring at his godly car, and smirked. He was back to glaring with a violent expression on his face as his blue eyes landed on Cody. They seemed to be having a silent conversation with their eyes. Then, Cody shook his head and looked at me.
“Alright, what’s going on?” I said like a police officer would say to the criminal.
Cody sent a panicked look towards Joe, who hesitated, before sighing and glaring at Cody. “I’ll let you have this one, Dowell, but next time, you’re a goner.” Joe shook his head as Cody smiled slightly.
“I’m really sorry for all this, Taylor. I’ll explain sometime.” said Joe, before walking to his car. He was less than six feet away when Cody chuckled lightly.
“Well, you two sure don’t act like girlfriend and boyfriend!” he said quietly.
I froze, and Joe walked back, obviously after hearing Cody. He hugged me and I hugged him back stiffly. He muttered he’d see me later and walked off again after kissing my forehead.
I shook my head at Cody’s amused expression and sat in his car, turning on the radio. They were playing some random Beatles song, Eleanor Rigby (A.N: Lol, Sparks, remember last year in Junior Mingers! That was hilarious. Ok, back to the story!) and sang along (Soprano part, not the ba ba ba ba part!). We arrived back at school and I hugged Cody in the reception.
He looked at me, surprised, when I pulled away. I thanked him for his wasted effort, and told him I’d see him tomorrow.
“No problem, Tay. I’ll take you there one day, when you’ve not got your boyfriend stalking you.” He managed a small smile, but I frowned.
This whole boyfriend thing was getting really annoying. Maybe we should just ’break-up’. I mean, half the school has no idea we were ‘going out’ in the first place, unless Cody told them.
I left Cody and marched into the elevator. I didn’t care where Joe was, but just as the doors were going to close, he dashed in, and they clanged shut. I crossed my arms and turned away from him, still angry.
“Taylor, look at me.” he said, tapping my arm. I stepped further away, backing against the wall.
“No. What is wrong with you? I have no idea what you’ve got against Cody. He’s funny, he’s charming, he’s handsome, he’s caring, and he’s perfect. Why won’t you let me live my life the way I want to?” I snarled.
