A/N: Takes place in the Soulmates Survey AU but it's an alternate version of Soulmate Survey :P

"Are you sure we can go to meet my pen pal, mum?" Hailey looked up to her mother who smiled. She was staying with her mother for this weekend and according to a letter, Jake Sterling is in town today for a holiday.

"Of course dear, your father already approved and it'll be nice for you to make some friends," Hailey's mother stated with a  smirk and Hailey internally groaned. Her mother and father were always bothering her about making friends and Hailey stated she rather be alone because the girls are mean to her.

Hailey walked out of the door with her mother in tow. According to the letter, Jake is at the nearest hotel at her house, Hailey wasn't sure if this was a coincidence or not though. Hailey's other decided to open the car door and Hailey jumped in immediately.

Hailey swore she could see a black-haired boy getting harassed by a girl with green eyes and blonde hair while two other kids, they looked older, were there not knowing what to do. Before Hailey could investigate even further, her mother started the car and started driving.

Looking out the window, Hailey wondered how would her supposed friend, Jake Sterling, treated her when they meet.

Jake Sterling wanted to go to this town for a long time. He heard it was quite a beautiful sight with many old buildings that were as old as the Stonehenge. Jake didn't even know what the Stonehenge is but it must be old. After a few months of bothering his mother and father, they gave in and took a vacation there.

Jake also wanted to meet someone too who coincidentally lived in this town. Hailey Austin, the penpal Jake knew that would love to be friends with him. Sometimes he swore he could hear his mother stating to his father that his penpal was the reason why he wanted to come here in the first place...and she was right.

Jake didn't care about the beauty of the town, he just wanted to meet the one person who was there to encourage him in writing music and didn't judge him for liking it, unlike his current friends. Jake just continued pacing around the hotel while his parents went out to get lunch for him. Soon enough, he saw a car park.

The two people from the car walked out, there was a girl with teal hair in a ponytail with grey-black eyes and a huge smile on her face. Jake stood there, stunned, she looked about his age too, could this be?

"Hailey, we're here. Now go see your friend," Hailey's mother stated with a smile before Hailey walked out of the car and ran into the hotel. She noticed a blonde-orange haired boy standing inside, wearing a grey hoodie and a confused look on his face.

"Hey, do you know a Jake Sterling?" Hailey asked the desk manager who just smiled. The desk manager pointed at the orange-haired boy.

"Wait, you're Hailey Austin?!" Jake nearly fell over as this beautiful girl was his penpal. Jake quickly got a letter out of his backpack, the most recent one Hailey wrote to him. Hailey turned around and saw the familiar handwriting on said paper. She quickly ran over to the boy with a huge smile on her face.

"Jake?! Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're actually here!" Before Jake could even respond, Hailey gave him a huge hug. Jake felt some sort of heat rising to his cheeks before calming down. "So you weren't pranking me!"

"So-sorry for making you think that," Jake replied with a quiet voice. Hailey just raised her brow, the Jake she thought would've been a lot louder and more confident.

"Jake, let's go to the playground!" Hailey said, taking Jake's hand and ran out of the door to the hotel's playground. Jake felt heat coming back to his cheeks but smiled anyway as he ran along with her.

"Dad, this is my girlfriend, Hailey Austin," Jake said to his father. After the band competition, Jake knew that Hailey was the one for him so he decided to introduce her to his parents. His parents looked at each other, remembering the girl Jake wanted to see back in Year 5 and smiled.

"Oh, that's the girl you begged me to see when you were in Year 5!" Jake's dad stated and started laughing. He remembered Hailey Austin when she ran around in the playground with his son. Jake was a shy boy before but Hailey must've played a role to increase his confidence.

"I don't remember that, dad."
