In this world, there are red strings only visible to the person they're connected to. They are called the red string of fate, which meant the connected people were destined to be soulmates. After years of fighting for men with men soulmates, the world finally came at peace about discrimination. However, this was a problem for a blonde woman...she doesn't have a string.
It was another day at Clozy's Coffees with a blonde woman walking into the coffee shop. It was an empty day with a huge lack of customers and the only people there were the woman and the barista. This was surprising due to the fact that this is a campus' day off, so students must've gone off to other coffee shops.
The blonde woman looked around before walking to the barista, a woman with teal hair, grey to black eye colours and a bored look on her face. She immediately sprung up to see one of her regulars.
"Hey Alina, do you want the usual?" The barista asked, making Alina nod. After a bit, Alina started a conversation with the barista. Asking about how it's been and why is she still working at this coffee shop.
"Well, a certain boy from another campus comes here often and..." before the barista could finish, she turned around to see her regular customer with a huge grin on her face.
"You like him, don't you Hailey?" Alina teased before making the barista blush. The barista shook it off and gave Alina her order. Alina smiled then walked to her usual seat, the seat near the window looking at the beautiful view of the city. It's been years since Alina had last seen her cousin, Zoey. Apparently Zoey's parents kicked her out and Drew, her ex boyfriend, also stopped supporting her. Zoey is currently at a community college, living off life under a nice person.
Alina was in her head until she heard the bell ring, indicating that someone had entered Clozy's Coffees. There was a dark skinned boy with black hair, headphones around his neck and a blue jumper with the logo of a university Alina goes to. Most of his hair was covering his face so Alina couldn't see him that well.
Alina then went back into her mind and before long, she felt something tugging her from her finger. A red string appeared, connecting from Alina's finger to the boy's finger. Alina wasn't sure why it was doing that or why the string only appeared now. However, one thing was clear, Alina does have a soulmate after all. Either way, she went back into her own thoughts as she drank her coffee to see the boy looking right at her. He must've felt the string too and as he turned around, Alina knew she saw him before.
Sean Everett, an unpopular boy in Sixth Form. Draco Harris bullied him to a huge extent. Alina always found Sean mildly attractive but never acted on it while dating Draco. She always thought that Sean was cool but no one else agreed with her. Looking back at it, Alina felt awful for not being able to help anyone and just stood by as her cousin and Draco just bullied innocent people.
All Sean Everett did was give a smile to Alina and walked out of the coffee shop. Alina had a feeling that this wasn't going to be the last time they'll meet...
"Alina, will you marry me?"
"OF COURSE I WILL!"

FanfictionOkay, I know I have fanfiction and all but I really want to write some one-shots for stress relievers in case I ever cancel my fanfic. Anyway, no requests are open btw, I write what I feel like and I don't want to force myself to write.
