The wind hit Adora's body like a whip. Her feet dragged behind her as she felt sharp pains come out from the top of her head. The sound of metal on rock pierced Adora's ears as she opened her eyes. She was weak and dazed. Looking down at the black boots moving in front of her face. Flashes of events that happened only half an hour ago filled her mind. It was all fuzzy. But then sh remember a big flash of light and the smell of wood. Burning. Tears started to run down her face leaving a trail of droplets on the rock. "Catra..." She wanted to scream but nothing came out. The beast stopped still holding Adora by the hair at a large metal door. Using the little strength she had left Adora conjured a small knife. Trying not to shift her weight to alert the beat of what she was doing she raised her arm knife in hand. With one sweep of the blade, she cut her hair just below the beast's glove. Adora landed and mustered all the energy she could to make a break for it. Running, stumbling. She ran for a couple of hundred meters before she was totally exhausted and collapsed. Slumped on the ground she turned to see the beast hadn't moved and was just standing by the gate looking at her. Behind them stood a dark fort, A circular wall surrounded it with a single door around two hundred metres in diameter. The fort was not large just a square building three maybe four stories tall, made from the same black stone as the ground. The windows had bars on them. No light came from them and not a sound. In fact, the entire surrounding landscape was dead, no trees not grass just black rock for... miles. It was quiet too, the only thing that Adora could hear was the pounding in her chest.

The beast staired still clutching Adora's hair. Turning they opened a panel next to the door and typed in a code. The door's mechanical part filled the void with sound and opened. The beast began to walk over to Adora his plates of armour scraping against each other, wind whistling through the gaps. Adora tried to get up for another sprint but couldn't she was finished. No more. As the beast approached the reached down and took Adora by the arm and dragged her inside. She was too weak to fight back so she didn't. And she didn't care because the only things she truly cared about were gone and there was nothing she could do about it. As she was dragged through the door to the fort she lost consciousness.

Adora woke in a prison cell. Cold. She sat up and coughed, throwing up in a bucket in the corner then sitting back on the "bed" a metal door connected to the wall by chains. There were no windows and no light except for the crack in one of the bricks in the wall that leet in a sliver illuminating the cell. The cell was at the top of a spiral staircase heading down to who-knows-where. The cell had a floor, walls and ceiling and a door that Adora had already tried. Locked. A now used bucket and a bed. Adora went through stages of grief quickly. Crying first then screamy out in anger. Then crying again. A painful cycle. After an hour of sitting in her own thoughts, a door opened at the bottom of the staircase. The familiar sound of metal boots climbed the stairs until the beast stood in front of Adora. They both stood in silence for what felt like hours before either of them said anything. "Who are you?" The beast responded in a calm but sinister voice. "That is not the question you should be asking." Adora thought for a moment. "Who am I?" The beast stepped forward. "You are the last reincarnation of She-ra the protector of the universe?" "Are you going to kill me?" "No." Adora was confused. "Why?" The beast reached into the cell and pointed at Adora "Because I need you very much alive."

24 hours earlier:

Just at the end of the dock, a meter and a half in the air something sparked into life. A black ember like substance floated for a few seconds before expanding to a line touching the dock and reach three meters tall. A sound like a blow torch to metal sprung from the crack. "Catra!" Catra ran outside. "I see it." The sky started to darken, birds flew away and the water once still began to ripple and become restless. After a few more seconds the crack expanded again sideways in the shape of a doorway. Black sparks of energy shot from the sides. "Catra, get Finn and get inside." Finn was crying the wind had picked up and the crack or doorway was giving off a horrible shriek. Catra ran over grabbed Finn and pulled him inside. "FOR THE HONOR OF GREYSCULL!" She Ra appeared and stood meters away from the unknown object. Catra clutched Finn in her arms trying to get him to stop crying. "Shhh Shhh Shhh." It was a minute into Adora's confrontation with the beast. Catra didn't know what was going on and was afraid to look. But as soon as Adora screamed she sprang up and looked out the window. Catra's heart sank Adora was being held off the ground by her ponytail by that beast of a creature. The beast shattered Catra with the words 'found you' It struck her to her core. When the beast raised his hand Catra ducked and transformed taking Finn in her mouth by the scruff of his neck. She looked behind her just for a second but all she could see was flame racing towards the house. She bolted into the spare bedroom as the flames engulfed the house. Finn cried at Catra ran out of room that wasn't on fire. She took a stance and ran towards the window shattering it and one of her arm. She landed on her back protecting Finn from the impact. Her instinct immediately kicked in and ran around the house. Adrenaline pumped through her system distracting her from the pain. She jumped over Bow, Glimmer and Entrapta. And ran to the dock. But they were gone. Catra transformed and cried and held Finn as tightly as she could. "ENRTAPTA READY THE SHIP!" Catra stood up and looked out at the dock of where Adora was taken. "I'm getting my wife back."
