She-Ra (Catradora)

Chapter 23

"Adora!" As the beast dropped to the floor Catra ran to Adora's aid. Adora was weak not only from the fight but as if she was harmed when the beast was killed.
"Catra." Adora croaked trying not to fall asleep. "I'm here. I'm here." Catra said between tears as she knelt down and cradled Adora's head so it wasn't touching the ground. Adora slowly lifted her hand to Catra's face. "I thought I lost you, the fire, the-" Adora started to cry. "I'm fine see, and Finn's fine too. We got out. Adora, I-" neither of them could think of the words to say. Not a quick remark from Catra nor a bad joke from Adora they just sat there holding one another.

Back on the ship Adora rested with Catra by her side while Entrapta flew them home. Both Catra and Adora were asleep. Adora lying in bed and Catra holding her hand and sitting against it. It was a long journey home and the two of them slept the whole way until they were about an hour off entering orbit.
"Mmm Catra?" Catra shot up as she heard Adora call out her name. "I'm here, are you ok?" Adora turned to face her as her eyes slowly opened and smiled, "I'm just so glad your here with me." Catra held back more tears and lightly kissed her forehead and said, "Try get some more sleep. We're almost home."
Home. Although Adora had only been away for close to four days it felt like a lifetime. All she could think about was officially starting the rest of her life with the woman she loved and their child and never letting something come between that again.

They arrived back in bright moon after they long and dangerous rescue mission being met with everyone and anyone that had bitten their fingernails to the bone questioning the outcome. When the doors to the ship opened everyone held their breath for who would step out. Glimmer and Bow were in front holding Finn while Scorpia, Perfuma and the other princesses stood behind. As Catra and Adora stepped out the crowd cheered and Kings, Queens and princesses and Seahawk rushed in a flood of tears to welcome Adora back.
"Hey Finn, told you mommy and mamma would be back right away" Catra said embracing Finn into a deep hug. As Adora saw her son she snapped fell to her knees and broke down in howls and cries. Stroking his fur and wondering if the fight will ever be over. But for now it was and they could relax as they were safe. It was over. They were home. Truly, home.

I originally started writing this cause my friend said that writing fan fiction was a good way to practice writing before I started to write my own original content.
