Hey everyone! Told you this would be the first story I uploaded in after my surgery.=P Feeling a lot better now, and ate pizza today. It was the first solid food I've been able to eat since just over a week ago, and let me tell you- it never tasted so amazing! Anyhow, this chapter was a bit depressing to write, so I hope you all enjoy it anyways. =P

Marisa sat up, stretching briefly. She had fallen asleep on the couch, admittedly not the most comfortable place to sleep. The girl glanced around the room, looking at all of her sister's friends passed out randomly in other spots, even the floor. Marisa had almost forgotten that they were there; at least until she remembered that they were all supposed to go outside and stay in the camper. Diana must've been out in the camper waiting for them, and they never came.

The girl stood up, tip-toeing around Diana's friends until she had reached the kitchen. Once she had made it that far, the girl continued outside. The early afternoon air was humid, and already Marisa did not want to be outside. She took a few steps, and finally made it off the deck. After taking only a few more steps, Marisa felt her foot step down on something hard. She glanced down to find a blue phone lying halfway under her foot. She bent down, and picked it up, examining it closely. It was Diana's phone, there was no doubt about it; the background was enough proof for Marisa to tell that it belonged to her sister. But Marisa also knew Diana was not one to leave her phone lying around, especially outside on the ground.

Marisa set the phone in her pocket, still a bit miffed as to why her sister's phone was lying randomly in the backyard, and began to head back towards the camper. Upon reaching the camper's door, she knocked out of habit before calling out, "Di? Are you in there?"

When no one responded, she opened the door and stepped inside, hoping her sister had decided to sleep in. Marisa peered around inside, and her sister was nowhere to be found. Marisa felt her heart rate increase, not knowing what was going on. Her sister was missing without her cell phone, their parents were conveniently stranded with a broken vehicle up north, and all of Diana's friends were still inside, just as oblivious to the situation as she was. Marisa slumped down onto the nearby bed, running options over in her mind. Unfortunately, even in this day and age, the police didn't start looking for someone until they were missing for more than forty-eight hours, an amount of time that still wasn't to pass for another day and a half at least. The girl sighed out of frustration; she was going to have to improvise.

She stood back up, and went back into the house. Upon entering the house, Marisa double checked her sister's bedroom. Sure enough, Diana's room was empty too. The girl willed her heartbeat to slow down, but she couldn't stop it. This was not a good situation to be in, there was no denying it. Before she even stepped out of Diana's room, she could hear the other girls stirring in the living room. Time to come up with something to keep them at bay, the girl thought. Marisa took a deep breath, and made her way back into the living room where sure enough all four of the other girls were wide awake.

"Well good morning," Marisa greeted nervously, although she hoped that they couldn't tell that. "Or shall I say, afternoon?"

Serena snorted. "Yea, whatever. Now where's the food?"

"Um... in the kitchen where it normally is?" Marisa answered with a slight nervous tremor in her voice. "None of you are guests; you all know where the food is, and are free to get it whenever you'd like."

The girl took the empty seat at the computer desk, spinning in it so she could look out over the rest of the girls. She made a quick glance at the clock, silently trying to remember what times they were all supposed to leave. Diana's friends never left at the same time, and right now, Marisa just wanted them all to leave so she could scream and try to get to the bottom of what happened.

"Are you alright?" Kat asked, seemingly out of nowhere. "Something on your mind?"

Marisa shook her head. "I'm fine, honestly." But even she wasn't convinced.

"Where the heck is your sister?" Constance asked, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. "Tell me she still isn't outside sleeping in the camper?"

Marisa was afraid of that question. She honestly didn't have a good explanation as to where her sister went. Marisa had to come up with a lie, and fast. "She had some college stuff to work on today, and she was going to be meeting with some counselors to see what her options were," Marisa came up with. Not a good lie, as it turned out. Everyone knew that Diana had no idea where she was going to college at in less than a year. Why would she meet up with someone if she hadn't made plans yet?

"So she knows where she's going then?" Alex asked, raising her eyebrow at the thought.

"Not yet," Marisa covered herself. "It's more or less trying to narrow down her options."

Serena chuckled at the thought. "Well maybe she shouldn't look around here yet. Maybe Arty will sweep her off her feet and take her back to Ireland." The girl made a gagging sound, which made Marisa instantly want to hit her. She really hated how Serena was so against Artemis, so against Diana being maybe happy with him. Marisa shook her head; maybe that's what happened when you had the perfect relationship. But before she could counter with something, an idea hit her.

Artemis! Marisa didn't know what she hadn't thought about him sooner. She surely couldn't use him as an alibi for her sister, but she certainly needed to ask him if he knew where Diana went. Worst come to worst, he didn't and Marisa would be no worse off than she was now. She wanted to pull out her sister's phone and text him, or better yet call him, but she knew right now wasn't the time. She had to get the girls out of there first.

"And if she goes to Ireland I sure the hell wouldn't blame her," Marisa defended her sister. "Can't be any worse than Flint, after all. As long as she's happy I'm not going to worry about it."

That dropped the subject completely, much to Marisa's pleasure. A few more restless hours passed before all of Diana's friends had left, and she could get on to contacting Artemis. The second she had shut the door from sending Kat on her way back to Lapeer, Marisa pulled out Diana's cell phone, not hesitating to call Artemis. The girl held her sister's misplaced phone to her ear, listening to the line ring for a few moments before someone answered.

"Hello?" the voice almost asked.

"Hi, Artemis," Marisa greeted. She was honestly not expecting him to answer, and she was pleasantly surprised that he had. "This is Diana's sister, Marisa. I was wondering if you had heard from her?"

Artemis didn't speak for a few moments. "I haven't heard from her since I dropped her off at your home last night. Why do you ask?"

Marisa took a deep breath. "I think she's missing..."

The girl heard a sharp inhale, almost a gasp of disbelief. "Missing? Are you sure?"

Marisa nodded, although she knew Artemis couldn't see her. "Pretty darn sure. She's not in her room, and she's not in the camper like she was supposed to be. Plus I found her phone lying on the ground outside. She would've never left without her phone. I think something happened to her, Artemis."

Once again, the boy didn't speak for a few minutes. The silence was slowly starting to kill Marisa. She just wanted her sister to be okay, and at the rate things were going, it didn't look likely. "For now, let's just keep our fingers crossed, and hope for the best. Hopefully she'll turn up unharmed. I'll keep my eyes and ears opened for you. If I find out anything, I'll let you know," Artemis finally answered. "Marisa... I... I'm really sorry to hear about this."

Marisa frowned. She was really hoping Artemis would've known something. "It's not your fault, Artemis. I guess sometimes stuff just happens. Now it's just a waiting game..."

"I suppose so," he said back quietly.

The girl finally got off the phone, setting it down on the bed next to her. Marisa was not sure what she was supposed to do now. She never fathomed that something like this would happened to her, to her sister. Granted, they lived in a crazy city; yes there were murders, but hardly any kidnappings. Marisa was anxious, and she was sick to her stomach. The girl was almost certain that she had just lost her sister for good...
