Adah
"There you are."
That voice was unmistakable.
"Were you looking for me?" I asked
"As a matter of fact, yes" he replied , pulling out a chair opposite mine before sitting down.
I usually came to the school library every now and then to pick out new stories to read, and today was one of those days. It was quiet, peaceful, and one of the few places in school where people didn't constantly demand my attention.
Or at least, it usually was.
"This brings back memories," he suddenly said.
"What do you mean—"
Oh.
My eyes slowly travelled around the library, and suddenly, I remembered.
That day.
I was supposed to help him with a few maths problems.
I remembered the way he had looked that day—sad and teary eyed, as if reminiscing about something painful from his past. He looked broken. Completely unlike the Princewill everyone knew—the usual flirty, confident, composed boy who always seemed like he had everything under control.
I remembered taking him into my arms as he cried on my shoulder.
And then—
Oh God.
I looked back at him.
"You seriously had to remind me of that day?"
He smirked.
"Which part?"
I narrowed my eyes. I knew exactly where he was going with this.
This boy.
"The part where I cried on your shoulder?"
I remained silent.
"Or the part where I kissed you?"
My eyes widened.
Oh God.
I didn't think he would actually say it out loud.
"Princewill!"
"What?" He asked innocently.
"You can't just say things like that in a library."
He glanced around the nearly empty room.
"Why not?"
I stared at him.
"You're unbelievable."
He laughed quietly.
I rolled my eyes and looked back down at the book in front of me, pretending to be far more interested in it than I actually was.
"You almost did it again." I said quietly.
His laughter faded.
"I don't know what we're doing, nor do I know what you want from me. One minute we're close, and the next, things are awkward between us."
I looked back up at him. He wasn't smiling anymore. The playful expression on his face had disappeared, replaced by something much more serious.
"I waved off the first kiss because you were emotional and everything, so I figured it couldn't have meant anything to you. But then it almost happened again at your place, and I started asking myself... what are we actually doing?"
